How does a projector hold up if you use it as your main medium for every day use?

I have been since the beginning of July, and I looked this week to see I'm at 500 hours. Running my model in "eco" mode (which is plenty bright for a light controlled basement) I should get to 6000 hours before needing a new bulb.

When I saw that I pulled up my calibration test patterns and glasses, and colors & brightness wwere lined up exactly as they were in July.

Purchased name brand washer and dryer, and gas range/stove from Lowes last night for under $1500.
When I bought my house the idea of spending coin on appliances made me cranky. I bought a reconditioned Kenmore washer and dryer from these guys for $355 delivered and hooked up. I think they get the "haul away" items from Sears, Lowes, etc and just give them a tune up.

The two best scenarios that I've found for buying large appliances are either at the time where the new model is made available in stores, or at a scratch and dent. I paid about $1300 for an LG FL steam washer and dryer pair when we bought our house because it was the previous year's model (which was normally over $2200). My parents bought their GE FL units at a local scratch and dent place and saved about a grand, and the scratches were all on the back of the unit. They also bought drawers, and GE replaced both drawers because they were broken for free. Huge score there.

I don't have cable and really only use it for movies/netflix (so really only a few days a week it would be on), I figured that would be in my favor for shelf life. Because of low ceilings in my basement, I honestly don't know that I can get a whole lot more out of a projector than a 65 or 70" TV, but I have no idea how to figure that out...

We checked that place out. My wife was adamant about the washer not having an agitator arm and those were tough to find at an "outlet".

I live 12 miles outside the delivery radius of my nearest Lowes, but that's who we have our store card through. Blah. Really want a gas range and a new fridge, and Lowes is having an up to 40% sale on appliances over $390. Might rent a U-haul pickup or something.

$20 for a rental truck at either Lowes or HD is likely worth it.

Well, the Lowes is 82 miles away, so whatever I rent has to be cost effective. I might go over there this weekend and see if they'll just go the extra 12 miles for a fee, or deliver it to a parking lot a few towns over. Or a co-workers house. I dunno. Stupid Wisconsin/Lowes. I don't want Menards. :P

sams club has a 65" vizio M series i am considering.
more on this deal

http://www.product-reviews.net/2015/11/ ... ce-tweaks/
The new Vizio D65U-D2 price will be $998, a saving of $498. There will be a minimum of just 5 of these per Club, and to make life easier, the order number is 652898.
The D Series looks like a super entry level 4k tv. Good price, but specs scare me off compared to the very excellent reviewed M series in same size.
i went to my local sams and checked out the D series. they had 18 of them in stock. as you said, some of the specs scared me off, notably the LED zones and to a lesser extent the refresh rate. i got suckered in to a black friday model of a samsung 3 years ago and have 'regretted' it since then. for me, i dont think the juice is worth the squeeze

There is - Google. Seriously, just add 'black friday' to the end of the model number and you'll find results. Filter by date (click on Search Tools, then change the timeframe) to weed out old data.

of all the ad sits bfads.net seems to have the the best searching mechanics.

too bad I don't still sell tv sets. I'd spent a few hours compiling where all the best deals were for each model.

Target is offering gift cards with iPad purchases: http://weeklyad.target.com/promotions?c ... 0PR&page=5

Personally, I prefer the Kindle Fire HDX's.

When I worked at RadioShack, around the time the iPod Classic came out, we could not discount the Apple products. The only thing we could do is offer them to put it on a new RS credit card and save %10 for signing up.

The co-worker I mentioned earlier, looking for the GoPro, all he's finding is specials were if you buy it at full price you get a store gift card. Same deal, probably some agreement with GoPro/Apple to not lower the price.

I e seen discounts on the high end new ipads. Just not interested in spending $400 discounted from $500 for a tablet which i think should cost $150-$200

Black Friday would be great if it was online. I guess there's blue Monday or whatever but I'm not giving up cuddling with my cats and Kaiser while watching Elf...just insane...

Plenty of deals online these days. No reason to get up early and risk getting trampled.

Many of Walmart's Black Friday sales will also be online this year. And if they are doing it, others will follow.
