Decided to spoiler because I'm discussing books too (episode 2):
Yeah I'm trying to get into the Daenerys storyline, but still blah to me. The Jamie/Bronn expedition to Dorne (which wasn't in the books) should be an entertaining plot line, I think. So far, I have liked the deviations from the books. I think the continued presence of Kevan Lannister could make things interesting for Cersei, although he did say he was going back to Casterly Rock.

Doesn't Kevan leave in the books too?

I literally cheered when Bronn appeared on the show. I love his character so much, and his expedition with Jamie has so much potential. Much better than Jamie's expedition in the book. I also like the presence of Kevan, I think it will help bring Cersei to that extra level of crazy and suspicion.

No, in the books Varys doesn't leave with Tyrion, he stays behind and he and his little whisperers kill Kevan Lannister. Really for the sole reason that Kevan is a good and honorable man, and he knows the last thing the conspirators need is a responsible Lannister helping to run things.

He goes to Casterly Rock to bury Tywin, then he acts as hand and reagent due to Cersei's imprisonment. He is killed much later in the story line.

Yes, but he acts as hand and reagent for a while before that happens. He is killed much later.
Ahh thank you, my timelines are definitely fuzzy from the books.

Daenerys' story line is getting much better. It was pretty stale for a while, but there's actual conflict and adversity
We just get to see Dany being dumb over and over again. I don't really like her in the show at all.

Yeah this episode didn't make anything better. Mereen is still a vortex of suck. Stealing a Rob Stark plot from 2 years ago didn't help.

Liked everything else though. Even the night's watch stuff, which was unexpected.

Just finished E2.
We've reached the boring parts of the books?

Yes. Yes we have.

Although, I believe in the show to make it far more exciting.

Other than the Arya storyline, this is the part of the books that are horrible. Already we've seen several variations on the show, so my hopes are high.

It will be nice that there will be no more book spoilers probably after this season, maybe sooner for most characters.

And unless Winds if Winter cones out in the next 11 months next season should be completely fresh.

I thought this past week was very good in terms of setting things up. Establishing pairings not in the books and furthering lines that were.

Supposedly, ep. 4 is a something closer to what you are probably looking for.

I like how hip Jamie is sitting on the wall waiting for Bronn.

I thought the next two episodes were good. End of 4 is really good.

Well... I guess that is one of the reasons they aged up Tommen.

Jon executing Slynt was everything I had hoped it would be. Most excellent.

Yes, I really enjoyed that. I forget is the sword he was given Valerian Steel?

I don't watch the previews for following weeks, so while I suspected the Sansa revelation it still surprised me. That should make for a very interesting dynamic.

I like how Thorne just smirked and turned away from protecting Slynt.

Just everything at the wall is so rushed compared to the books but the pacing is fine for TV.
