I should probably rewatch the whole series again just so I remember when happened at the end of the last season.

I think Emilia Clarke looks better as Daenerys Targaryen than she does as Emilia Clarke.

your brows need to be the same color as your hair.

but there isn't anything unsettling about the other 99.9%

How many women actually have brows that match their hair color?

The name of the book series should have just been Game of Thrones. Way easier to say, and still makes sense in context of the series.

Just finished rewatching S4E8. I have to pour one out for my homie Pedro Pascal.

Simply put, dude owned the role of Oberyn, and that made his inevitable demise all the more painful for it. So brutal.

April 12 can't get here fast enough.

Here's something to discuss while we wait for S5... The guy from boiled leather put together a list of his top 20 episodes: http://www.rollingstone.com/tv/lists/20 ... s-20150401

My biggest issue with the list is #2... Other than the cave scene w/ Ygritte and Jon, I can't even readily remember what happened in that episode.

I'm not going to attempt a top 20, but I'll do a top 5...

1. Blackwater
2. Rains of Castamere
3. Baelor
4. And Now His Watch Is Ended
5. A Golden Crown

I actually hate that I can't fit an episode from S4 in there. If I stretched it to 10, I'd probably have The Lion and the Rose, The Laws of Gods and Men and The Mountain and the Viper in there... but it starts getting hard to choose between the rest at that point.

At this point, I think I've resigned myself to the fact that HBO will show the rest of the plot to me, and that's OK. I've pretty much given up on the novels, and bought into the fact that this is a TV series now.

I think HBO will arrive at the "destination" GRRM has planned, but I'm not sure they will take the same route as him to get there and I think that will keep the books somewhat fresh when/if they ever get published.

Yeah... I mean even if Martin manages to get the next book out prior to S6, that would just delay the inevitable. D&D seem pretty set on the 7 season thing... I could MAYBE see them doing a split season kind of deal with some extra episodes for season 7, but I get the impression that they know how many episodes they need to tell the story and aren't likely to extend that unless forced to do so. (Well, I read an article where they basically said just that so :p).

Martin would effectively have to release the next book a year later (two if he gets lucky and they do a split 7th or an 8th season) to beat them to the finish line... and that is not going to happen.

I accepted this quite some time ago, and I'm fine with it. It's going to be the abridged version of the story, with characters merged or left out, and a whole lot of feasts and travelogues left on the cutting room floor... and that is probably a good thing.

I'll still read the books whenever they come out since they are going to be a lot more detailed and have plot lines that aren't in the show... but at least this way we should get to see what happens sometime this decade. :p
