Yeah I'm in on that. I just don't care to see a re-do. Feel free to ret-con the **** out of it though.

I fully expect a unique HOD theme next week when the intro is added.
I was fully wrong.

Another good one. Definitely slowed it down a bit after last week’s premiere but lots of good stuff was set up in this one.

Loved the setup this episode did. Lots of things put in motion. Glad to hear the iconic GOT theme again. Cinematography again was top notch.

not using a new theme is a mistake imo. The episode was solid but man it doesn’t feel like $20 million per episode. I again have issues with the lighting or what. All scenes feel very cloudy

I agree on the theme. I disagree on the cinematography. I wonder if it’s something with your tv or whatever you’re using to watch it? Looks great to me.

I don’t think so because I’ve seen it on two different tvs (my brothers 65” and my own). But it’s weird because obviously y’all disagree with me

idk, visually it feels daytime tv-y to me

Also fwiw my issue with the theme is mainly that it makes this show FEEL like a spin off (I know it’s technically a spin off but I want the show to be good enough to earn its own distinction). Better Call Saul did a really good job of separating itself from BB stylistically

It just feels uninspired

though from a story/characters perspective I’m very excited to see where this goes. I think all the actors are really solid but I’ve read some stuff by the people who read the books and the of the little I know, things get much more complicated than they are now (duh).

As weird as he is, Martin seems to have a penchant for compelling stories. It will be very important for the show runners to stick the landing though because this universe goes to the trash heap if they **** up again

Source of the post Better Call Saul had a massive rating for its first episode of the series and then it dropped to half of that for episode 2
Better Call Saul had a viewership of 6.8m for the premiere. A huge number, definitely. The best in cable history at the time, and maybe still I'm not sure. HOD had 3 million more than that. Even if viewership is cut in half for episode 2, they're only slightly less than the Saul premiere. And by the way, that 9.9m number is US only. The House of the Dragon premiere is absolutely massive and just proves that the whole "Game of Thrones is a dead brand" thing is and always has been stupid. What is dead will never die.
Btw…

huh that’s impressive. I admit I was wrong

Also, despite my whinging about my believed issues with the cinematography, re-used theme and Lady Leana’s wig, the show has me hooked. The story, characters and actors are all very compelling

Yeah, I'm back in as well. I thought for a second David Benioff was one of the Gold Cloaks that Rhaenyra and Otto Hightower interviewed, but alas, it was not. That would've been awkward.

Yea I'm fully hooked. I hope it continues on this trajectory, but regardless it amped me up for a GOT rewatch. I really love the world GRRM created and hope HBO is able to keep the hits coming and force the show runners to end them like people who give a damn.

I'm even looking forward to reading Winds of Winter, whenever GRRM decides to finish it. I honestly wrote it off after the end of GoT.

I also had a bit of a quick laugh right up top when the main theme kicked off. Also expected a new theme, but like DD said, why mess with perfection I guess.

I also don't jive with the visual criticism. Looks quite similar to GoT. There was a really wonky establishing shot of King's Landing though that looked obviously like miniatures, but aside from that.

Agreed that the second ep was quite strong. Keep it character-driven, keep the political maneuvering going...

I think the color is also brighter with higher saturation, so Kings Landing does look slightly different from GOT. It’s not as lived in, which may be off putting to some.

Which part?
I was a little bummed about the off screen death but the visual was bad ass. The arrows were a little silly. The time jumps are jarring. I get why they’re happening though. I like that Daemon would rather go into a seemingly impossible fight that accept help from his brother.
