Also...Ramsay yanked the skin off of a zillion northerners whose families may have had an interest in being part of his demise.

This is not a contest. Rape is bad m'kay, but Sansa didn't deserve to hog all that fun for herself. Didn't even hang out to see the finale. Put him in the middle of town, peel his skin off and feed it to his dogs if you must involve them. Though I'm not a flayer...I don't know if that's better or worse than being eaten alive.

...with that said, battle of the bastards was even better on rewatch. Despite this. And rickon not knowing about X and Y axis. And Sansa keeping the little finger thing secret and costing arguably thousands of men their lives
Flaying would be worse because it's slower.

Just saw that HBO made it official that the 8th season will be in 2019.

I really wish I had just waited till the whole thing was over to watch it.

i have 2 episodes left in my re-watch. it's been bad for my mental health. way too obsessive of a task. but it's made me see the show in a different light. some characters make a lot more sense, and some of the plot armor isn't as disruptive in re-watch/binge mode, which is a bonus. because season 7 is still really really bad, in that sense. in fact, i'd wager season 7 episode 5 is the worst thing the show has ever done - sand snakes and all. when you know what's coming, it plays like a comedy. it's just one scene after another of, "oh come on!"

but anyways...i suggest you give a re-watch binge a try once we hit September or so.

S7E5 was wildly fun, but man, most of the stuff left me shaking my head. I'm still annoyed by the "master plan" cooked up by Team North

I'm annoyed at the whole 2019 thing, but I am overdue for a rewatch. Up through s4 I would binge the prior seasons leading up to the new season, but I haven't done so for the past couple at least.

and jorah...he literally says he's going north to serve dany. wat? this ain't even her deal. this is jon snow's plan. go make her some eggs or something if you want to serve her.

"oh hai dany. haven't seen you in maybe 3 months. maybe 3 years. who even knows. anyways...just wanna let you know that the very instant we re-unite, i'm gonna split, even though i don't have much offer the mission. sound good? good."

episode 6 was the execution of the big dumb plan. it was fun and it's best to pretend they're up there for not big dumb reasons. episode 5 is when they dreamed it up.

I much rather have they had gone the Northern Conspiracy route with the Umbers, Karstarks, and other Northern houses turning on Ramsay.

I think we all wanted that so bad. They teased at it with the Manderly stuff.

He was the first lord at the end of Season 6 to support Lyanna Mormont's plea to support Jon Snow. Beyond that, Arya was the one to serve the Frey pie IIRC...little bit of fan service there.

Season 7 would have greatly benefited from being a full season instead of shortened for no legitimate reason.

i had/have no opinion about this plot. didn't care that they skirted around it and just had the vale help win back winterfell. the only issue with THAT was sansa being secretive and being responsible for possibly thousands of deaths. she seems ok with it though. no biggie. she got to privately watch ramsay almost die and then inexplicably walked away while everyone else had coffee or whatever, after all.

Rewatch update: Arya + Sansa season 7 is bad. But it doesn't last as long as you think. It's just 2 episodes basically. But yeah. This is some bad bad filler.

And Tormund >> Bron. And yes - they're to be compared.

This is a good hot take even if I may not agree with it, need to ponder

Bronn's character got quite stale as the series has drawn forward. Tormund is generally always amusing.

Game of Thrones returns in April.

Of 2019.

This is not the best news ever. But GRRM is gonna release both books at once 2 weeks before that. Book it.
