I ended up watching the first ep of Stranger Things S4. Definitely a bit different tone than the other seasons, but I really, really enjoyed it. I usually hate when the add in more characters to a show I already think had too many, but I like the new additions.

Can't wait to see where it goes from here.

Finished stranger things, definitely a different feel from prior seasons, but I thought it was great. New additions were great as well, but they still have no idea what to do with Will. Upsidedown stuff was badass, certainly showed where all the money went.

Will doesn't know what to do with Will either.

And I'm not complaining, there's enough stuff going on. He also looks out of the place the most with his age. The show definitely is not without it's faults, but I thought it was a fun creepy watch. They did a rad job with the big baddie, got some The Void vibes from the suit. The CGI and real FX were done very well.

We Own this City on HBO is very good. Same people who did The Wire, with same Baltimore background, so if you liked The Wire you'll probably like this. The focus is on corrupt Baltimore cops. Only 6 episodes though, so that kinda sucks.
How the hell did I forget that Jon Bernthal is in this?! This just jumped straight to the top of my watch list.

Banged right through Reacher(ound) over the weekend, while 2/3 of the house was down for the count with stomach flu (really, really bad, but I missed it). Better than I expected; and it had a very 80s action film vibe. Right down to where the guy smashes through a motel wall to see a couple in bed like Commando. No nudity in that scene like Commando though

We finished Killing It yesterday (with Craig Robinson, on Peacock), and really liked it. Looking forward to season 2.

Miracle Workers S3 snake oil juice dancing. Haven't laughed that hard in a long time. It was wonderful

Loved that episode. Radcliffe went all in on it, and killed it.

Big fan of Hounds of Love. Also, can't listen to the title track without tearing up.

It's been a long time since I sat down and listened to any of her albums. What a talent she is. I like the waking the witch and under ice song on there.

Source of the post He also looks out of the place the most with his age.
I'm only on episode 3 but most of these kids have aged out of their roles and it's getting into Dear Evan Hansen territory. Nancy is 27. Jonathan is 28. Steve is 30. Will (Noah Schnapp) is actually the most age appropriate at 17. Mike, Dustin, and Lucas are 19 & 20. I know season 5 is the last season but I hope they do a time jump.

Also, I understand why streaming services do weekly releases now. The Stranger Things hype is already dead.

I thought this season was harder to binge. Each episode felt like a movie production. I very much enjoyed it, but it was tough to watch more than two episodes at a time. I still think some shows benefit more than others for binging, but I enjoy the weekly episode when you have time to digest and dig in to the details. Twin peaks the return was the best summer of TV I've ever experienced. They nailed it with that. It's also enjoyable to watch the premiere and then later in the week watch it again before the new episode airs

I would love for entire season dumps for some shows, if only to allow me to download them all at once and send them to my TiVo. It'd save me the weekly effort.

I like the weekly release for discussion purposes. Tif will be calling me wrong for weeks over Kenobi. It feels like more of an event and you're able to discuss it easier because everybody is on the same episode for the most part. And I agree, Eddy, season 4 of ST is hard to binge. Episode 2 was almost feature length at about an hour and 20 minutes.

Finished ST S4 last night. We binged 2 eps a night and one night with 3. What an improvement over S3. I am counting the days until the rest of the season comes out.

Just watched the Norm Macdonald final special and discussion on Netflix. The special was fantastic. The discussion afterward was... weird. I love Letterman but he really didn't fit in here. He was hung up on there not being an audience and approached this more as a critique of the special rather than just reminiscing about Norm and what makes him great. The others tried but each time they got it going, Letterman knocked it off the rails again. When Sandler and Spade talked about him, you could feel the love and the fact that they knew him on a much more personal level. Chapelle, Conan, and Letterman really seemed to only know him professionally and it showed. Molly Shannon got in about 5 words. It feels weird saying this, but this would've been 100 times better if Letterman wasn't there.
