I might binge that at some point. I plan on signing up for a month or so just to check out Foundation.

While you're there, check out For All Mankind and Severance.

For All Mankind sounds familiar. Is that the Ron D. Moore show? I'd watch that just for the fact that he made DS9 the great show that it was.

Yes, it's a fictionalization of the space race. It starts with the Apollo missions, and what if the Soviets beat us to the moon? Great show. Season 3 drops this summer.

First episode of Prehistoric Planet was really good. The CGI is outstanding, which was a bit of a surprise to me.
This is Apple TV, right? It looks very interesting. How long are the episodes?
40ish minutes, and yes, Apple+/arr matey. Worth a watch, especially if you’re an Attenborough fan - which you should be unless you’re a loser.

arr matey is a good idea, too. I need to pull the trigger on a hard drive upgrade.

Don't know if anyone else watches This Is Us, but it was a good end. I enjoyed the show.

I think it’s perfect. I’m so ready for the Jodie Foster resurgence.

Yeah, I didn't mean Foster being cast sounds weird, it's brilliant casting. The plot sounds weird. And to me, that = excellent.

Watch Jibaro from Love, Death and Robots

I’m not a huge LDR fan (first two seasons were meh) and this season I only bothered to watch two episodes: Brad Travelling and Jibaro. Bad Travelling was entertaining enough but ultimately was a bit shallow. Jibaro though…damn son

There’s a lot of layers to it. Great artistic vision, especially when I learned that none of it was motion capture and all of it was animated. Not a single word spoken in the entire 17 minutes of the episode. Stunningly powerful imagery and a bonafide plot

the creator’s vision for the episode for those that have seen it:
so on the surface it’s a story about conquistadors in Puerto Rico. They get greedy, die. The dead guy gets greedy, gets healed, gets hearing back, dies.

the creator of the episode however talked about how it’s about domestic/sexual abuse and damn it hits hard under that lens. The siren ends up falling in love with someone who doesn’t seem to have the same terrible traits as the other men. Then he betrays her trust and effectively rapes her. Her anger/vengeance then poetically leads to his demise.
there are some points where the animation can get a little weird but I think ultimately if you want to see art (and not just aesthetically but also an incredible story), watch this episode

Ron Howard directed a documentary on Jose Andres' World Central Kitchen for Disney+. A little bit all over the place in execution, but really underscores what I already felt about WCK: what a really great program and initiative. I know I don't volunteer enough, but I could really see helping them out during a crisis.

First two episodes of stranger things was pretty cool, genuinely creeped my kids out, so that was good. Looking forward to watching more, they threw a lot of money at this and it shows

Think we may start this tonight...and I'm glad to hear that it seems good. I was worried that wouldn't be the case.

Is anyone watching this season of Barry? I'm... conflicted so far. The tone is much different than the previous 2 seasons. It's still great, imo, just different.

Not sure about Stranger Things. Everything - and everyone - looks wrong. Do not like. Will continue to watch regardless. Very creepy.

I finished binging season 3 and was all excited to dive into 4. Now I have the head cold from hell and don't feel like it. Maybe next weekend.

My wife will only watch it in the daytime, so I guess this will replace Dexter during our afternoon coffee.
