As someone who doesn't really like "country music," I found that I was narrowing in on the slick pop country that dominated the airwaves (and CD players) of the late 80s and into the 90s. The genre is much more diverse than that, and should also include bluegrass and Americana - which is awesome.

I do like country music, although I can't stand any of the mainstream sht that has been put out over the last 10-15 years. In my opinion, the golden age for country music, setting aside the classic era, was the late 1980s/1990s. George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Garth, Martina McBride, and on and on and on. So many all-time greats hit their peak during that time. There was definitely the pop country influence, but at that time it was much more subtle. I actually enjoyed a lot of that stuff from that era.
Back then, you didn't have the "hick hop" bullsht which is basically just a lame ass version of country rap dominating everything.

By the way, Paul Hemphill's Hank Williams biography "Lovesick Blues" is a great read.

Netflix & BBC Team Up For Natural History First With David Attenborough Series ‘Life In Colour’
Netflix and the BBC have teamed up for the first time to make a natural history documentary.
The pair will co-produce three-part series Life In Colour, in which Sir David Attenborough will explore how color plays a vital role in animal interactions using new cameras built specifically for the show.
The documentary is being lined up for a 2021 premiere, meaning Attenborough will be 95 by the time it is released. It is produced by Humble Bee Films, a Bristol-based production company, which recently made Attenborough And The Giant Elephant for BBC One. Sydney-based Sealight Pictures is co-producing with Humble Bee.

Watching ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ reruns. Peter Boyle was the absolute best. I have enjoyed everything I have ever seen him in. Doris Roberts is also so good.

I know there are some decent sitcoms out there, but there was just something so charming about so many of the 1990s/early 2000s sitcoms. The casts were so well put together. Peter Boyle was a national treasure and died too young at 71.Watching ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ reruns. Peter Boyle was the absolute best. I have enjoyed everything I have ever seen him in. But yeah, I have been going back and binge watching a lot of those era of sitcoms. Raymond was the best, but King of Queens was awesome too. I never get tired of the Heffernans.

It is. They put it on hiatus for almost two years.
Prior to last night, the last episode aired was 12/13/17.

Looks almost like a queen.
While S1 was not a negative, S1 was definitely not good. Netflix grasping at their home grown properties to try to offset the loss of the Marvel shows.

I enjoyed S1 enough to give S2 a try. They definitely need to improve things, though. Every episode was the same pattern - problem, resolution. Also, I hate Parker Posey's character.

The robot in the still shot looks like a Geth from Mass Effect, so they should just make it a Mass Effect show instead.

https://www.businessinsider.com/south-p ... KX3gTlAiTwThe most recent episode of "South Park," called "Band in China," mocked Hollywood's submission to the country. Now the long-running Comedy Central animated series has seemingly been banned in China itself.

Parker Posey stinks. Blade 3 was not good, but Parker Posey was by far the biggest anchor.I enjoyed S1 enough to give S2 a try. They definitely need to improve things, though. Every episode was the same pattern - problem, resolution. Also, I hate Parker Posey's character.

This is like the 3rd time I've seen China and the NBA mentioned together. WTF happened?
Friday, NBA general manager Daryl Morey of the Houston Rockets tweeted the phrase “Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong.” The since-deleted post constituted an endorsement of the protests against Chinese encroachment in which pro-democracy demonstrators in the semi-autonomous Hong Kong “special administrative region” have been engaging since June. In response, a number of the NBA’s big-money sponsors and partners in China—who are ultimately controlled by the autocratic Chinese government—condemned Morey’s tweet and pulled out of deals with the Rockets. On Sunday night, the NBA issued the following statement of contrition.
"We recognize that the views expressed by Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey have deeply offended many of our friends and fans in China, which is regrettable. While Daryl has made it clear that his tweet does not represent the Rockets or the NBA, the values of the league support individuals’ education themselves and sharing their views on matters important to them. We have great respect for the history and culture of China and hope that sports and the NBA can be used as a unifying force to bridge cultural divides and bring people together."
According to the AP, a message the league posted in Mandarin on Chinese social media went even further, stating that the NBA was “extremely disappointed” in Morey’s “inappropriate” comment. (An NBA spokesman then said that “there should be no discrepancy on the statement” and that “our statement in English is the league’s official statement,” which doesn’t really explain anything.) New Brooklyn Nets owner Joseph Tsai, the U.S.-educated executive vice chairman of the Chinese Alibaba Group, wrote on Facebook that “1.4 billion Chinese citizens stand united when it comes to the territorial integrity of China and the country’s sovereignty over her homeland”—i.e., against a democratic, self-governing Hong Kong—and that Morey’s comment “will take a long time to repair.”
