t-wat
Oh.

It's so ubiquitous in my household it never dawned on me that it would be something worth censoring. My wife had t-waffle written onto a cake at Giant Eagle once. Bunch of prudes.

That looks interesting (and topical for me, as I just toured a nuclear power plant last week).

I went into this expecting some cheesy tongue-in-cheek recut of the Fresh Prince opening, but this is amazing. I'd watch the **** out of this show.

Per Bloomberg @disney is on track to lose billions launching ESPN+ & Disney+. Big gamble is whether streaming profits eventually materialize:

Once the Star Wars and Marvel content roll in they will be swimming. Not to mention all the other stuff it's going to offer.

You know what could attract viewers? A Marvel series about Daredevil. Maybe another about The Punisher, too. Could work.

Finally getting around to watching Twin Peaks.

It is quite excellent, but man the acting in some cases...yikes.

We have a twin peaks thread where I mostly talk to myself and gaucho chimes in occasionally. I just picked up all 3 seasons and the movie on bluray sale, looking forward to revisiting with log lady introductions on each episode. I'd say at least once a week, I'm still finding myself reading about the show, it really is incredible how in depth it all is. Also best theme song ever.

As a fan of true crime stuff, The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann on Netflix has been interesting and a solid watch. Through six of eight episodes and so far the big takeaway is to steer clear of Portuguese police.

We watched Shrill on Hulu over the weekend. Was a quick watch and had its moments. I really like Aidy Bryant on SNL but you could tell she was a bit out of her comfort zone here. I thought the writing was really smart and allowed Aidy's character to be very unlikeable at times. It felt real (for the most part). It was way too short, though. Hopefully it gets a second season.

I have seen a lot of folks mention how slow and tedious it is. But the biggest takeaway is how unbiased it is - doesn't steer you in one direction or the other, which is refreshing. Plan to give it a watch over the next week or two. I just don't know what to think about that case - but in any case, the parents I feel have a ton of culpability.

Billions is back. Pretty good first episode, if you're into that sort of thing. :pop:

I've really wanted to get into Billions but just haven't pulled the trigger on it. No idea why.

I haven't found it to be slow or tedious, but instead very thorough and diligent. Saw some complaints about how an early episode delves into the backstory of that area of Portugal and "who cares about that?". Well the history of that area helps explain the motivation and actions/inaction taken by police. Whatever, people are dumb.

I saw some reviews that said its just a rehash of what people already know about the case, but I honestly didn't know a damn thing about it and have enjoyed the documentary. And yes, the parents have a ton of culpability.
