Really enjoyed the finale of After Life.

Ricky Gervais surprised me.
Not gonna lie, I teared up during it. It's supposed to be funny, Ricky. WTF?

We’re only one episode into the new season, but it started off good. I expect it to finish strong.

Everything he touches turns to gold. And I want more Karl, while we’re on the topic.

Another show to check out - British/American - is Episodes starring Matt LeBlanc as himself. It's about a British TV writing couple that get hired to make a remake of their hit UK series in the US...starring Matt LeBlanc on the rebound from Friends.

Another one - probably not something that @dodint would be interested in, as it's about parents and their kids - is Breeders. It's on Hulu, stars Martin Freeman and Daisy Hoggard (who has a minor role in Episodes). It's funny, but with a dark edge.

Saw promos for Breeders when it came out. Isn't it on FX? I like Freeman but yeah, pass.

We’re halfway through Episodes abs enjoy it. Kinda stopped for a while because of other shows coming out, but will definitely finish it.

First two episodes of season 3 of After Life have been very boring and repetitive (Ricky is sad but his mate tries to cheer him up and sends him on zany feature interviews with this year's new intern; again). I assume from all the praise that it finishes strong.

Same. That’s what I meant by him surprising me.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I was kind of glad that the show was ending because I couldn't take another season of him moping around in between the daft people he interviews. But it gets better, and then you don't want it to end.

Every few years I get the Band of Brothers itch. Last Thursday I was sitting down for lunch and had nothing else to watch so I figured I'd throw on the first episode. Yadda, yadda, yadda I just finished the finale. Man, what a series.

It sure is. Still holds up. I hope Masters of the Air is as good. I think it should be out later this year in fact.

Man I am struggling through this. I think we’re on episode 3 or 4 and I just don’t care at all.

Scrubs really went all the way with the "Main Character Has A Baby" trope, eh? I can see how I missed these waning seasons the first time around.

Season 9 is pretty much a non-season with almost an entirely new cast.

I know not of what you speak. Scrubs salvaged things with a great series finale in Season 8 and that was the end of it. :pop:

I know about the Scrubs: Med School season. I've just never seen main characters have four children in like two seasons. I was reading into some other choices made and Bill Lawrence admitted he thought the series was ending earlier than it did so he just started making interesting arcs with drastic moves. Then it got renewed and he was stuck with it.

Somewhat related, but it is pretty funny how they age-jumped Becky's kid on The Conners without making a mention of it. She went from being an infant to about 4 years old over the break.

This is an example of one of my peeves when watching a TV series. At times you can tell that the story takes a certain direction unrelated to a writer or show-runner's intent. Same applies to killing off characters when you know the actor/actress has moved on to do a movie or other TV show.

I know there is nothing they can do about it a lot of times, but I like seamless stories.

Darlene’s boy also aged like crazy. The show is so bad but for some reason we still watch every week.

Well, that actor just grew up, not much you can do about it. He did hit an impressive growth spurt though.

I still don’t get why Jerry Garcia Conner isn’t around. Early on in the reboot Roseanne mentioned he was a fisherman in Alaska so at least they gave an explanation. Unlike Fred and Andy.

Getting into the second season of What We Do in the Shadows. Have to be honest, this show didn't start out that great but has really grown on me. Think it was already mentioned in here when originally aired, but lol at the Superb Owl party. Didn't even bother trying to explain it to my wife - the joke was funny in its own right.
