The MacDonald special was weird to me because it felt like he never started, the entire set was preamble to a show that never happened. You just kept waiting for it.

Chappelle's latest, in case anyone was wondering, is amazing. significantly better than the two from last year, imo.

Did [George Carlin] play Eisenhower?
Yes. Thursday, January 19th, 2006. I paid $39 and will remember the show for the rest of my life.

...but that's probably the worst joke in the set.

Are you sure you aren't getting him confused with Godric? Yeah, it wasn't that funny, but that was his opening line and took a while to set it up, so it's what I remember.

We saw him at Starlake a few years ago when he first came back from his hiatus. He was very rusty, but had a few good ones. I can already tell he's in better form from the 15 or so minutes I watched.

I liked the new Chris rock special. It felt pretty authentic to me when he stopped in the middle and talked about how he messed up his marriage. That part was kinda awkward because of how serious he was.

I'm rewatching The Office for the 4th or 5th time and there is a real drop off in quality halfway through Season 7. Did anyone quit writing at that time. Especially right around the Christmas party / Toby Scranton Strangler departure.

7 is definitely not great. On my most recent watch it was better than I remembered but I think that’s because I was able to binge more this time. It felt like they ran out of ideas for the characters and were just waiting for Michael to leave. I do love his final few episodes but Will Ferrell sucked/was weird and unnecessary.

I thought 8 did some good things (Robert California, use of Gabe) that unfortunately matched the bad things (Nellie, overuse of Andy). Honestly it can’t be overstated how **** awful Andy was. To me this was probably the worst season. Thought 9 was a massive improvement and was probably better than most of 7.

As far as 7’s writing staff:
New writers in the seventh season include Peter Ocko, Jon Vitti, Steve Hely, Carrie Kemper (sister of Ellie Kemper), Robert Padnick, and Amelie Gillette

Two things...

1) Was I the only one to notice the House of Cards Final Season teaser last night?

2) Am I the only one who thought they killed the whole show and was surprised as hell to see that teaser?

HoC was put on hiatus, then they decided to finish the season (and series) with Robin Wright as lead.

They basically announced that they didn’t want to put a bunch of innocent people out of work just because Spacey is a creepy ****.

First you forget that you posted that, and second, you posted a BuzzFeed link. GTFO.

Maybe that's why I didn't remember posting it.

I didn't believe it since it was Buzzfeed, so I forgot it.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Looks pretty cool, though I'm not sure it has the same appeal as the movie, i.e. Heather Graham, who appeals to all ages, and Lacy Chabert, who at that age greatly appealed to a 12 year old Dickie Dunn.

That does look pretty good. I was really impressed by the VFX for Altered Carbon, but this series takes it up a notch.

It makes the CW DC shows look like amateurish.

I got about halfway through the first season and it was weird and out there and insane TV. This reminds me I need to finish watching the first season.

I liked the new Chris rock special. It felt pretty authentic to me when he stopped in the middle and talked about how he messed up his marriage. That part was kinda awkward because of how serious he was.
I liked Rock's Tambourine, especially the more honest parts about his divorce (which I think he handled very well with the right mix of sincerity and humor), but I do think that parts of the show seemed too derivative to me. I like him a lot, but he did "borrow" substantially from his past awesome shows - to the point that he even had almost "sequel-like" references (big piece of chicken, keeping daughter off the pole). So, I still liked the special in the way how I liked, say, Austin Powers 2, but, for me, Tambourine was clearly behind his best work (Never Scared, Bigger & Blacker).

I haven't watched almost any TV at home in the last 4 years, and I try to catch up with the comedy specials while on the road. So this may be an oldie, but I finally saw Bo Burnham's 2016 "Make Happy". I haven't been a big fan of Burnham (maybe because of the 20-year age difference), but the last 15 minutes of that show - DAMN!!! I still consider the last 15 minutes of Mike Birbiglia's "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" a true standard for the highest-quality show, but Burnham got really close there.
