Just started watching Mad Men on Netflix. As a marketing guy, it annoys me that I was born too late.

Totally. I find both hold up very well.

im intrigued by the netflix business model.

they dont have advertisement so their main revenue stream is subscribers i assume. and they continue to add shows they are producing, which cannot be cheap. i cant imagine that each series they create brings in X number of new subscribers to offset the cost.
Same could be said about HBO. And GoT is probably a zillion times more expensive than house of cards or whatever.

I agree the math doesn't make sense, but it must work out.

Netflix planning to bring back Full House

http://tvline.com/2015/04/02/full-house ... x-revival/
Is Andrea Barber coming back as Gibbler? I've heard some interviews with her where she was unhappy with her treatment on the original show, surprised she would reprise the role. Then again, $$$.

As mentioned above, Turn started really slow but found its pace the last third of the season. The CGI budget is pretty bad but maybe with Mad Men finally **** off they can throw some money their way. Probably not, though.

Anyone see that Halt and Catch Fire is coming back for a second season? I have no idea what that is going to end up being about given how S1 ended.

Netflix just committed $100 million to House of Cards, and it bought them 26 episodes. ($3.8 million per) They now have a tick over 60 million subscribers, which is roughly 50% growth over last year..... and it is roughly double the number of subscribers HBO has.

A single episode of GoT costs around $6 million.

Looks like Twin Peaks isn't going to happen after all.

Lynch is (supposedly) out but Showtime looks like it might move forward regardless. This might all be a power play by Lynch to get more money for production too. I never though of Twin Peaks as being a show in need of a large budget but maybe he has something big planned.

I watched about 40 minutes of the HBO Sinatra documentary. Superb. Part one is 2 hours, and part two is tonight.

Essentially, it is narrated by Sinatra (at the point) and by his first wife Nancy (who is still alive). The director took a "Farewell Concert" setlist and recast it as a biography of Sinatra. It will be interesting if it is critical of Frank's philandering later on...

David Lynch just pulled out of the Showtime continuation of Twin Peaks. Yikes. He had already written all nine episodes, so will be interesting to see what happens.

I keep saying it, but I'm about done with Modern Family. It has gone down hill big time. Usually around season 5 or 6 a show loses it's muster but I typically stick with it because I know the end is near. But this show has really stunk.

On the other hand, and I know people will disagree with me, but I still love Big Bang Theory after all of these years. I know they use the same jokes, but for some reason, I still love it.

I've never seen a full episode of Modern Family.

Everyone raves about it, but it's not my thing.

I watched it essentially for Phil and Luke before he hit puberty. Now I've got nothing keeping me to watch.

I've never seen an episode of Parenthood or Modern Family. The former is on Netflix now, probably ought to watch it.

lolol... I didn't even think about that when I posted this. Luke was hilarious as a kid. He hit puberty and now he's just awkward and no nearly as funny.

I think it's a ploy to get the budget he wants. Maybe he's going to let the internet do it's thing and maybe Showtime caves and gives it to him.

That's my guess as well.

I started giving Friday Night Lights a rewatch as background noise, but the show is just too damn good and every episode steals my attention. Easily one of my favorite shows ever.

Is this SNL skit creepy or funny?

I vote Funny.

It was the last skit of the night and should have been further up in the show.
