Well the cast definitely needed trimming. Hopefully for their sake some of the new members are good writers.
Great point. The cast has been way too big the past few years. Because of that you had really talented people like Melissa Villasenor sitting on the sidelines way too often. I think the sweet spot is around 15 cast members, including featured players.

Is that a motion capture rig? Like to capture images to make a Coach Lasso in FIFA?
Not mo-cap but facial scan, like photogrammetry. Maybe performance capture for face only. You've got the right idea, tho.

A lot of people I worked with at PlayStation had this done and are 'crowd extras' in MLB The Show.

I know this isn't the Marvel thread but there's no wrong place to talk about how much She-Hulk sucks.

New Ken Burns documentary started Sunday, runs through tonight (I think, it's a three parter): The U.S. and the Holocaust. Halfway through the first episode, and it's pretty good. Didn't know Hitler picked up a lot of his ideas from the U.S. earlier attempts at controlling immigration (Native Americans, Eugenics). Henry Ford published a weekly newspaper that featured an anti-Semitic column that had the second highest circulation in the country at the time (Dearborn Spectator).
Yeah, Henry Ford was a bad dude. Ditto for Lindbergh.

So Dr Cox AND Dr Kelso were from Pittsburgh
Somehow I missed this. Just started S8 yesterday. Really starting to lose steam, but still good TV
It's right in that good enough to enjoy but easy to turn off range that i look for

The Pittsburgh thing were both in S1. Kelso talks of his father moving them to Monroeville to care for steel workers and Cox is trying to date a surgical intern and she asks where he's from he says Pittsburgh
He actually implied he came from Altoona in one episode:
I was one of the most promising young shortstops ever to come out of Altoona Pennsylvania. Then came the Dominicans. Long story short . . .calling them all 'Pepe' was apparently just racist enough to get me a life-long ban from the Appalachian Rookie League.

I turned this on for 2 minutes yesterday and had to turn it off. Didn't want to go to bed with such terrible thoughts in my head.

Awesome. I'm sure Gilligan has full control and carte blanche to do any series or film he wants. He's definitely earned it. Also I'm happy that this isn't going to be Better Call Kim.

Oh.

I like Jennifer Coolidge, but she was not a likable character in the first one (the least likable of a cast of unlikables, really). I didn't know that was the direction they were going in. I guess I kind of figured it would be a continuation of Alexandra Daddario's story. Huh.

We just started watching the Crown last week. I knew the quality was going to be high but I didn’t expect to be as into it as I am.

I know Rick and Morty isn't big in this community, and I get that most people might love it or hate it.

That said the most recent episode, Season 6, Episode 3 - Bethic Twinstinct is the hardest I've ever laughed at an animated show as an adult. Morty and Summer's reactions to the main plot point had me in tears, it got my wife pretty good too.

Just caught up the past 2 episodes. Super funny. Jerry has been the MVP so far IMO.

I came across a fun show called "i'm sorry" on HBO Max (it's on some other platforms as well). It ran for two seasons and was picked up for a third season which was eventually killed by COVID.
It was created by Andrea Savage and Jason Mantzoukas. They're playing comedy writers and it centers mostly around Andrea's family. Very simple premise but the writing is fun. Lots of fun supporting cast like Judy Greer, Martin Mull, Kathy Baker.

It's like a more grounded version of The League but kind of gives off that same vibe. Which makes sense given the crossover in talent.
