Yea it's a good show. If I were to rank the Marvel Netflix shows:

Daredevil 1
Punisher/Daredevil 2

Jessica Jones

First half of Luke Cage
Defenders

Second half of Luke Cage

Iron Fist

Having only seen DD, Punisher, and Defenders, I completely agree with your top two and last lines.

Purple Man/Kilgrave or whatever the villians name was on Jessica Jones was great. One of the best villians marvel has put out.

That is a lot of hours of your life devoted to things that you may or may not enjoy. Anyone have remorse about being vested in such a time suck?

it's not so much. Granted I've only seen Daredevil 1 and Punisher the whole way through, it's more about getting a few less hours of sleep than it is wasting time, at least for me.

Yeah, start using your free time more wisely, like answering work emails.

Has any of you watched Ozark on Netflix? Just finished episode three after a coworker of mine recommended it. Pretty good so far.

Yeah, Ozark was excellent. It seems Netflix has a new TV series that appeals to me every other week or so. There's a Weimar-era German series that looks really interesting. I just need to clone myself to be able to watch all of the TV, play the video games, read the books, watch the Penguins, be a parent, work, and so on.

New Homeland season starts Sunday.

One of my coworkers is upset with me (but not really) because my back to back recommendations for him to watch were Ozark and Mindhunter.

"WHY DO YOU ONLY RECOMMEND SHOWS THAT HAVE ONE F*CKING SEASON?!?! I NEED MORE!"

first episode of Altered Carbon was intense. A bit of a mess, but I'm digging it. The HDR is extraordinary.

This Strike Back is something else.

It's like a parade of actors in cameos from other shows I watch:

Annabelle Wallis from Peaky Blinders
Iain Glen - Jorah Mormont from GoT
Liam Cunningham - Ser Davos!
Peter O'Meara - Lt. Norman Dyke from Band of Brothers
Guy who plays Floyd Talbert in Band of Brothers (in the same episode as Peter O'Meara, and they even shared scenes together).
I think I've seen stills of a Littlefinger cameo coming up as well.

I usually watch it while I'm cooking dinner, because it's pretty mindless entertainment. My kids are usually around, but thankfully not right over my shoulder. One episode starts with as hardcore a sex scene I've seen on pay cable, similar to some of those early GoT scenes. I had to flip my iPad over to get it to stop. Lots of gratuitous nudity, sex, and violence. It's...something.

Anyone watch Benders?

I spent halftime last night watching an old That 70s Show on IFC. They were promo'ing some hockey sitcom called Benders. Hoping its like The League, but with hockey. Third episode comes on this week, trying to DVR the first two before I watch that one though.

Any good?
I'm liking it, so far. Reminds me a lot of Denis Leary's previous comedies (which I also loved).
Just noticed this was not picked up for renewal back in 2015. RIP.

I am, but if I don't see some superpowers in the first few episodes, that'll be the end of it for me.

As Superman got his powers from our yellow sun, I’d imagine it will be more about advanced tech. I’m getting a strong Caprica vibe from the previews.

Then I will probably not watch. It was bad enough waiting for him to use his powers in Smallville.

First we get two new Chappelle specials, and now Chris Rock? I'm really loving Netflix right now.

Figured Rock was in that "I'm not funny anymore but it's ok." Phase of his career. His involvement in the Grown Ups franchise does not make me excited for this.

*shrug* Chris Rock is still one of the funniest stand up comedians of all-time, IMO. I'll give any of his specials a shot.

**** making quality stuff when you can work that "Friend of Sandler" status. Easy movies, easy money.
Reports on Grown Ups 2 indicate Rock had a share of back-end profits of the $245 million worldwide box office haul, with some estimates putting the comedian’s take at $17 million.
Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider and Kevin James recently found out it also puts you in the driver's seat -- literally. The actor recently shelled out a lot of cash on Maseratis for each of his Grown Ups costars. "I went outside the other day and I had a new Maserati in the driveway," Chris Rock told Howard Stern during an interview on his Sirius radio show. "Now I think that I'm Adam Sandler's [expletive]."

$17m for two Grown Ups movies? That's a no-brainer.

That's just for Grown Ups 2.
