We're two episodes into 'Only Murders in the Building'. It's interesting.

Outer Banks season 2 is really dumb. It's not like Blacklist was where the characters do mind-numbingly stupid things and get away with it. In Outer Banks the plot relies on all the characters making the wrong choice at every single turn. I know it's a teen soap opera and I shouldn't care but they're not even trying.
Honest question, are you specifically watching it because of the OBX tie-in? Just curious.

My understanding is that it's not *really* the Outer Banks like we think of them, but the far southern end way down by Wilmington, right?

It was shot in South Carolina.

The wife likes it so I'm pushing through. And a friend of mine from NC is friends with one of the writers. I know it's trash TV but they're making it almost purposefully bad.

Like, the one character gets shot, dies, comes back to life, gets off the table, and runs from the cops all in the course of about 4 hours.

It's actually filmed in and around Charleston, SC.

Yeah, they don't do geography well. There was a funny bit in S1 where they took a ferry to Raleigh, NC. One of the local NC papers wrote a funny article pointing stuff like that out.

Wait....what?

Was it done in a tongue-in-cheek way, or sincerely?

The writers played it off like they just omitted the driving, which would have been the bulk of the trip. But the way it was presented they get on a ferry, walk off a ferry, and then they're at the library they needed to get to in Raleigh instantly.

They were filming an episode of CYE in my neighborhood this past summer. Fun.

For whatever reason, I routinely confused the North Bay towns of Sausalito and Petaluma, and would often talk about taking the ferry to the latter...... which is 10 mi inland. So I am muy simpatico.

anyone here see I Think You Should Leave?

it’s a tremendous show. Some skits are **** laugh out loud funny and other skits are a waste of a couple of minutes bad. They’re all either 10/10 or 0/10, no in between

We started watching New Girl and made it through the first season last night. My wife loves it, and I don't hate it. There are certain scenes and lines that crack me up. It's not anything incredible, but it's watchable.

It's not terrible, but rather predictable. If you like mindless violence and a little bit of drama, it'll be up your alley.

And then crashes so so hard in the last couple seasons.

But the middle run of that show is about as good as it gets for sitcoms. Season 1 they were still finding their legs.

We’ve been re-watching it. Good stuff. But you couldn’t remake it today with half the stuff Schmidt says. I can’t believe how much has changed in the last 6 or 7 years.

Yeah, agree. The last 2 seasons or so go downhill. But seasons 2-5 were fantastic imo.

I'm about halfway through it... I don't know about predictability other than knowing the main characters aren't going to die right away. But I agree with the mindlessness. It's not a thinker kind of show. It's just violence, some drama, some comedy and away you go.

Source of the post Season 1 they were still finding their legs.
I find this to be true with a lot of those sitcom kind of shows... so I look forward to continuing to watch.

SEAL Team is starting season 5 on CBS, and then moving to Paramount+ after the fourth episode to close it out. So dumb, but I'm happy for qBittorent.

Especially when you rewatch, it's really evident as you know how the characters develop.

Season 1 of The Office and Parks and Rec are rough. Seinfeld too. There are some good ones in there like Diversity Day, Rock Show, and The Stake Out but mostly those seasons feel so off compared to what the shows became. Luckily those three have really short season ones.

The Good Place is one that starts out great and continues the whole way through the show.

Man I loved the Good Place but then after about episode 2 of season 5 i just lost steam for it and never went back. Weird since I hear it ended great. Same with Schitt's creek. Season 5 I just stopped watching after binging it all in a like a week. Can't think of any other shows like that other than ones that just got objectively bad. I guess these shows did get boring in my opinion
