It's probably a younger Master Chief, hence the voice. I'm certainly not going to nitpick it not being an exact match.

I don’t even need it to be the same voice actor but the tenor and feel is totally different. It’s much more Batman than MC.

Season 3 of Hanna was very good. Only 6 episodes to close out the series, much like The Expanse. I guess Amazon has to cut costs to pay for the Lord of the Rings series. Anyway, it brought the story to a close. Mirelle Enos and Esme Creed-Miles were excellent. I hope to see Creed-Miles in more projects - she can handle action and fight scenes well and is a good actor. Maybe the MCU will find something for her.

I’m 4 episodes into season 3 of After Life. I agree a bit with what’s been said previously where it’s just more of the same. But at the same time, it’s different. I don’t fully know how to explain what I’m thinking, but the best I’ve got is that Ricky’s character through the first two seasons was an absolute dadhole to nearly everyone. This season, it seems like he’s only acting that way toward people that deserve it. And that’s really what we should want out of people right?

Agreed with this, and we're on the same episode as you now.

I'm also on episode 4. Will probably finish it tonight or Thursday. I have a feeling how it's going to end, I hope I'm wrong.

I laughed so hard at that…

Also, the interaction with the person occupying his dad’s old room cracked me up.

Is the actress that plays Kath just really fantastic at pulling off the awkward conversation? I was climbing out of my skin when she was on the date with the barrister. She has a certain unowned sadness that really affects me.

Yeah, I loved that scene, and think that's a great example of your other post on how he changed for the better. He's having a bit of fun, but it's also cheering up that guy's day.

If you were to somehow, miraculously combine the unknowingly stupid and easily conned portions of Michael Scott and the prude portion of Angela, I’d imagine that person to be Kath.

We felt the same, and yes, she does that well. I was expecting her to get tired of his **** and throw her wine at him, to be honest.

Oh, yeah, forgot about that guy. That was bad.
I was referring to the one where she lied about being a doctor, who works in a hospital, yeah.

Oh yeah, the first guy - definitely more awkward now that I think about it.

Has anyone watched Derek? It has a lot of the same cast, as is par for the course for Gervais (not a bad thing).

Derek was terrific. I've seen every show Gervais has ever been a part of, and am a big fan.

Derek is on Netflix, FWIW. Also, this guy is in both, and his character cracks me up in After Life:

10 episodes into Gravity Falls--this is one of the best animated series I've seen. Outstanding.

I'm annoyed that his animated show isn't on HBO Max. The Ricky Gervais Show, where he animated some conversations from his podcast, were absolute gold.

Karl always made me laugh so hard on that show. He’s the wittiest dumb person I think I’ve ever seen.

To add to my previous post, the best way I can describe Gravity Falls is a funnier Twin Peaks that kids can watch. A ton of references more geared towards adults but clearly a kid's show.

By the time Idiot Abroad came out you could tell that Karl was really playing it up. Still a fun show but nothing beats those early appearances on the podcast/radio show.

This is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series:
