I was shocked she is 35 already. The naked True Detective girl also hit her career peak almost a decade ago.White Lotus is fun, maybe just for its escapism factor. Every single actor, even the young ones, feel like wash-ups*.
*Stifflers Mom, the love interest from Spin City, one of the girls from The Handmade's Tale (though I knew her from Everything Sucks!), a guy from The Office you forgot was on The Office (Jake Lacy).

Interesting take. Thought she was amazing in that show.Americans… the fat, older lady with the big “President of the PTA” vibe as a former sex spy and current alleged bad ass. So stupid. It was a funny gag in season 1. And then they kept bringing this character that made no sense back because it was such a larf?
That show, man…

The performance didn’t make any sense. I think it’s a funny twist in season 1, then it felt like a clumsy departure from the internal logic of the show, with her not acting anything like every other Russian. Instead…PTA lady.
The show runners made some strange choices along the way. The core of the show was well casted and we’ll written but the side characters were ehhhhhhh.

I didn’t find the take interesting. You’re right, she played the part very wellInteresting take. Interesting in that it didn’t make any sense to me. She helped provide character development for the main characters by providing a window to the past. Don’t really get the PTA vibe either. She was cold, not fake happy.

The actress didn’t bring any edge, sadness, despair, or anything else that her position inherently entailed. The show was about the toll that the life took on you. Gabriel played it well. An old, grizzled former agent. Philip and Elizabeth - same. You wouldn’t have thought Claudia spent her life in absolute hell up until she became the handler for junior spies.Interesting in that it didn’t make any sense to me. She helped provide character development for the main characters by providing a window to the past. Don’t really get the PTA vibe either. She was cold, not fake happy.
You’re describing the purpose of the character, which isn’t the same. Of course the character made sense and helped drive the story. The performance was inauthentic and flat. To the extent that is actually muddied the overarching theme.
I imagine she played the part as she was instructed to. But it was a mistake from the showrunners to have someone who only resembled a former agent because the script says so - and not because of the performance.

Funny, I searched for it earlier and it said the season was like $9.99. Had to dig a little deeper to see it free (with ads), so there you go.

I've been having an issue with Prime where some movies and shows appear a few times in a search and each has a different price and availability. It'll tell me a movie is not currently available in Prime but I can also find it in my Showtime movie channel for free.Funny, I searched for it earlier and it said the season was like $9.99. Prime has lots of content but the platform sucks.

Yep. It's arguably the worst streaming platform in terms of the interface. nocera has mentioned Peacock as being the worst, but for a company the size of Amazon, I expect better.Source of the post Prime has lots of content but the platform sucks.

Disney+ Orders ‘Nautilus’ Series Based on Jules Verne Classic ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’
A reimagining of Jules Verne’s classic underwater adventure 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is heading to Disney+ in a new 10-part live-action series.
Unveiled on Monday, Nautilus, produced by U.K. banners Moonriver TV and All3Media-owned Seven Stories, is set to give the famed 19th century novel a new spin, telling the origin story of Captain Nemo and his legendary submarine, the Nautilus. An Indian prince robbed of his birthright and family, a prisoner of the East India Company and a man bent on revenge against the forces that have taken everything from him, Nemo set sail with his ragtag crew on board the awe-inspiring vessel, battling foes and discovering magical underwater worlds.

I would hope so. It's one of those movies that I think could really benefit from today's technology.

I've just started The Chair, on Netflix, about the new chair of an English department at a small private liberal arts school.
In the first two minutes, the chair announces a 30% drop in students, massive budget cuts, and living in "unprecedented times."
It's like a documentary, filmed at my work.
