I get that, but I think he's going to wind up getting his comeuppance that will make it worth it.

Nate is going to end up doing something very bad, paying for it, and then redeeming himself.

My guess is he
tells the press about Ted's panic attack and Higgin's mistake costing them that player

Mushrooms comment had me laughing pretty good, the response was excellent as well. Roy is so good.

I think it's a filler episode just like the Christmas one. Oops, we wrote a 10 episode season and then they ordered two more. Where can we fit a fluff episode. Oh, maybe Beard can go on a bender after a game.
And I think Beard is probably upset, the same way he got upset in season 1 and left the Pub when Ted was treating them like college kids and just turning them into good young men.

Just read the whole cast and crew are getting raises for season 3. No mention of it being the last season, either. The show had higher viewer numbers than Friends and The Office for the time period leading to the season 2 premiere. Sudekis is getting $1mil per episode for his various roles on the show.

I read not too long ago that the series would end after season 3...

That was the original plan but we'll see how much they stick to that if Apple throws even more money at them. Ted Lasso is literally the only reason to have AppleTV+ right now and Apple knows it.The Morning Show isn't driving subscriptions.

For All Mankind is excellent, but not likely driving subs either.

I haven't checked that out yet. I do like Mythic Quest but also not driving subs.

My roommate has been watching it. I've only caught bits and pieces but it's been intriguing enough that I've sat through a couple halves of episodes without knowing much of the context.

I don't think 30 Rock gets enough credit. It's unbelievably tight writing.

Wasn't it like their marquee Thursday night sitcom for a while? Not to say that it isn't deserving of accolades, just that it was always well regarded, maybe not widely adored like the Office, but very popular for a bit of a niche show.

I did a rewatch of that last summer and it put it squarely at the top of my "best comedies since 2000" category.

Yeah it was acclaimed. But i think it's pretty legendary. I don't see buzz about it though and i think it's because it's not very lovable.

Detestable is a good word for it. That show really concentrated a lot about what I dislike about TV.

I tried to watch it recently but I couldn't get through the first season. It feels extremely dated.

Like pretty much every comedy, the first season is definitely the weakest ("Tracy Does Conan" is basically the first good episode, and that's what, 6 in?). But man is there a bunch of gold in there once it gets moving.

Just watched The Simpsons s26e21 which aired in 2015. There's a puberty demon in that episode. Looks and sounds a whole helluva lot like Maury from Big Mouth that didn't air for another 2 years.

Simpsons did it first, again.
