House was a great character but the show was very formulaic. I've tried to watch it a few times and usually stall out a few seasons into it.

I never tried the other 2 shows mentioned. Agreed House gets too formulaic. Cuddy yelling at him especially gets eye rolling. But I still think it's pretty great. Rewatching and on pace to finish it with one free month and one paid month of amazon prime

ER and House are both superior to Grey’s Anatomy.

Watched the D.B. Cooper mini series on Netflix. Never heard of the guy, and was fascinating to hear about the heist and everything surrounding it. It's crazy how much of a folk hero the guy still is in that part of the country. Problem is, the entire time I couldn't stop thinking to myself
The guy is dead. He jumped out of the plane, chute either doesn't deploy or he died on impact and they never found any remains. They admitted the possible landing area is very large and it's in a wilderness of forest and mountains.
I am halfway through this thing and it's not really about DB Cooper. It is mostly this self-annointed 'cold case team' harassing a private citizen. They are coming across as complete dadholes and don't seem to be in on the joke.
Oh yeah, the guy is a dick. Boo hoo, you've dedicated your life to chasing a ghost. Seems like he was chasing money/trying to get his documentary, which I guess Netflix bit on it. At least Netflix was generous enough to let us know who DB Cooper was :slug:
Indycar owner Dick Simon of course.

Finished Stranger Things season 4. Good, much better than 3, but dragged at points. Could've trimmed some fat along the way or spread it out across 12 episodes.

We just watched this last week, and it was utter trash. I hope everyone involved on that team gets some weird nose herpes disease.

The U.S. and the Holocaust is a three-part series that tells the story of how the American people grappled with one of the greatest humanitarian crises of the twentieth century, and how this struggle tested the ideals of our democracy. By examining events leading up to and during the Holocaust with fresh eyes, this film dispels the competing myths that Americans either were ignorant of what was happening to Jews in Europe, or that they merely looked on with callous indifference. The truth is much more nuanced and complicated, and the challenges that the American people confronted raise questions that remain essential to our society today: What is America’s role as a land of immigrants? What are the responsibilities of a nation to intervene in humanitarian crises? What should our leaders and the press do to shape public opinion? What can individuals do when governments fail to act?

Premiering on PBS September 18-20, 2022, The U.S. and the Holocaust is directed by Ken Burns, Lynn Novick & Sarah Botstein, written by Geoffrey C. Ward, story by Kevin Baker and produced by Burns, Novick, Botstein and Mike Welt. (6 hours)

On season 3 of Yellowstone:

Again, great show IMO, but man, between the people gunning for the ranch and the **** that happens to the Duttons, I'd just sell and move as far away as I could.

Just started watching We Own This City. First episode was fantastic, and definitely feels similar to The Wire. Speaking of, I loved seeing that Delaney Williams is in this, too.

It's pretty great. And there are a ton of cameo's from The Wire actors.

Yeah great show. It's almost a shame that it's based on a true story so we probably won't get a season 2.

Dukie from The Wire is also in it, but only a minor role. Had no idea it was him.

I watched a documentary that focused on one of the characters so that part was spoiled for me. Luckily it didn't affect my enjoyment of the show at all. Interesting doc, too.

Just found another cameo from a The Wire vet - Michael Salconi - who plays Drummond.

They just started writing season 5, so I guess we'll see part 1 on Netflix in 2025.

Stranger Things is actually responsible for the JIF peanut butter situation.

Spotted Hurc in We Own This City, so now I just expect the rest of the cast of The Wire to make a cameo at some point.
