I was going to watch that but I knew with that structure I wasn't going to finish the series because I'm not spending time watching any show dedicated to late-night after 2015.

That's only covered in the last episode and you aren't missing much if you skip that one. Another upside: you won't have to look at James Corden.Source of the post I was going to watch that but I knew with that structure I wasn't going to finish the series because I'm not spending time watching any show dedicated to late-night after 2015.

Highly enjoyed the movie. It is...... something else, haha.
The SNL sketches were quite great too, assuming you've seen a few already:
The movie/trailer/show are obviously much more extreme than the show sketch.

Watched the premiere of wheel of time, they definitely made a more mature young adult story with this and while I understand, it didn't work for my 10-13 year olds (which I was disappointed in).
Great ending to GBBO, very much enjoyed this season.

So this dumb thing has sucked me in pretty good.I actually just started re-watching last week as background noise. I’ll echo nocera’s statement of it being one of my favorite shows. Very high volume of smoke shows populating Dillon, TX. It was a very good show made great by the threat of, and then action of, cancellation.I'd stick with it. FNL is one of my favorite shows of all time. The first season very loosely follows the movie.I've seen Friday Night Lights the movie but never bothered with the show. Noticed it was on Netflix so I watched S1E1 last night. It's overly simplistic to say, but this feels like it's going to be a really long and drawn-out version of the movie. The pacing is just super slow. Funny seeing Fat Damon young and in shape.
First season is excellent but suffers from moments of network TV 20+ episode order bloat. Second season is okay but the worst season of the show. Writers strike ended the season early and low ratings and the threat of cancellation led to the introduction of nonsense storylines that are all but ignored in future seasons. Continued low ratings led to cancellation and revival on a DirecTV channel that no longer exists, finally hitting that 13 episode sweet spot for removing the storytelling bloat.
Season ranking: 5, 1, 3, 4, 2
The only really valid complaint I have is that S2 just suddenly ends. I was only half paying attention and when S3E1 started with an exposition recap I had to rewind it.
Some of the storylines got really lame, long, and drawn out. Was happy when the one character finally shoved off to Manhatten, hope he's never heard from again.
About to start S4.

One of my all-time favorite shows but I agree with everything you said. Season 2 is especially ridiculous.

She's just as annoying as Lyla but in a different way. You may not have gotten to the more annoying aspects of her character yet...

S2 was hit by the writer's strike and was honestly probably the best thing to happen to the show. Ended the ridiculous storylines and got the show cancelled by NBC to get a fresh start. So this dumb thing has sucked me in pretty good.I actually just started re-watching last week as background noise. I think you're underestimating how annoying Lyla's voice is. That weepy way she says "Jassssson" makes me want to throw her in the river. I'm with you on Tami and sure the Riggins neighbor. But when it's time to party, you call Tyra.Source of the post Julie, Lyla, Tami Taylor, Tim Riggins' neighbor, Tyra

Let's be real. That list is 1a through 1e. Definitely call Tyra when it's time to party. Lyla has other assets to overcome her whiny voice.
