For some reason my wife started watching Designated Survivor over the weekend. Apparently it's now a Netflix show and just released a new season. Regardless, I **** love this show and all of it's ridiculousness. Melodramatic political issues that are solved in like a single episode mixed in with a mildly interesting, but probably unfulfilling, government conspiracy. The show takes it self so seriously yet is such an easy watch, with unintended humor from mediocre dialogue and ridiculous action sets. Also, like literally everyone is in this show. Jack Bauer as the neutered wet dream of a moderate independent President, the long lost love interest from The Truman Show as his wife, Kumar, the dude who was Andre Bishop in Fight Night Champion, the fire mutant from Days of Future Past, Maggie Q, Yul Brenner from Cool Runnings, Pam's mom, Bubba, young Tonya Harding, that dude from Orphan Black, Gibbs from Pirates of the Caribbean, Virginia Madsen, the dude Vic Mackey shot in the face in the pilot episode of The Shield, some chick that I recognize from True Blood, the dude from Northern Exposure, the dadhole police captain from Dexter, and some absolute dime piece who I'd never seen before as Chief of Staff. THEY'RE ALL RIGHT THERE IN THIS INSANE SHOW. **** love it.

We started watching DS, and then I think we stopped watching it because we heard it was going to get canceled. Worth continuing?

Weekly Big Little Lies update...not dogshit this week. Actual, believable things transpired. Some even warranted mild interest. The system is falling apart.

We're almost done with season one. I've greatly enjoyed it. It'll be interesting to see if there's a noticeable difference between the Netflix season and the typical network camp that S1 has been so far.

Wait until the end of season two or beginning of three. It got so bad, I stopped watching it. It might as well have a been a cartoon at that point.

Started watching Sopranos from the beginning. My god is the pacing slow. I don’t remember it being like this.
I enjoyed the Sopranos, but didn’t love the Sopranos.
On the last season. The dream sequences are awful. Just the worst. The Test Dream I forgot is one of the worst episodes of this series and I now remember almost stopped watching the show during the initial run due to that episode. Luckily I can skip all that bullshit with technology now.

The early seasons dreams seemed to add to the story. These are just over inflated jerk off fests aimed at trying to portray a deeper meaning in a sociopath. No thank you.

Other than the dreams the pacing sorted itself out right about when Tony’s mom died.
Finished. First rewatch of this in about 10 years. Last half of the season isn’t good. Finale is still as garbage as I remember it being. AJ didn’t bother me as much this time but it was clearly a half cocked idea that they didn’t have time to flesh out properly. Really a whimper for the series to go out on.

5 eps into Barry. This show is excellent. Well written and has a little bit of everything. Very dark comedy.

Bill Hader is a really talented dude.

Been watching Fraggle Rock. Never put it together that Doc from that is also Doc from Boondock Saints. Also, the music is excellent.

This sounds right:
A Christian group known as Return to Order has been running a campaign to urge Netflix to remove the show Good Omens, which was released on Amazon.

Master of None is quite entertaining. I binged both seasons while I was traveling. Thanks for the suggestion, dodint.

Good Omens is decent so far. I feel like it can be much better, but it's watchable. Of course I'm only 4 episodes in, so maybe it gets better? I dunno.

Metz & I just started Bosch. We're on ep 4 or 5 of Season 1. Does it pick up the pace or is it always like this? I could take or leave it right now.

Season 1 is easily the worst season and I don’t remember a ton of it. It should pick up the pace but it will always be more akin to The Wire (lots of people from The Wire involved in Bosch) than a Law & Order. I would say power through season 1 and decide based on season 2, which is a significant improvement.

Yeah, the seasons get better later on. Season one isn't horrible, I just don't remember a lot of it. I do remember it was based on two books in the Bosch series though. Stick with it, it gets better.

I'm not in the demographic profile HBO wants for Euphoria, but it's...something else.

In one of the first big sales of the 2019-20 broadcast development season, CBS has given a series production commitment to The Lincoln Lawyer, a legal drama from The Practice creator David E. Kelley based on Michael Connelly’s series of bestselling novels. The project hails from A+E Studios, which will co-produce with CBS TV Studios.

Written by Kelley, The Lincoln Lawyer centers on Mickey Haller, an iconoclastic idealist, who runs his law practice out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car, as he takes on cases big and small across the expansive city of Los Angeles.

Kelley has a strong track record so I'll give this a shot despite CBS. Big fan of the Matthew McConaughey movie and The Lincoln Lawyer was actually the first of Connelly's books that I read. Sucks that it'll be extremely unlikely to get a Mickey Haller appearance in Bosch.

@Troy Loney

Just finished the first season of Barry. That was one of the best seasons of television I've watched. It does dark comedy better than any show I can remember. Going from laughing to gripping your chair within five minutes of the same episode.

Bill Hader is a damned talented writer/actor.

Hank was a great character and every scene involving the acting class was great. I tuned out a lot of the hitman stuff though. Obviously the contrast was deliberate, but I think it got a little too over the top at times.
