Today, FX announced that it’s moving forward with plans for a first season of Y: The Last Man, with Michael Green of American Gods fame and Aïda Mashaka Croal attached as co-showrunners and Barry Keoghan starring as Yorick. But of course, the cast of a series about a world with no men needs a lot of women. In an unnamed role, Diane Lane rounds out the cast that includes Amber Tamblyn, Imogen Poots, and Captain Marvel’s Lashana Lynch.

While the show’s not set to premiere until 2020, the first striking image of Yorick and his pet capuchin Ampersand walking down a street full of dead men, posted by the Hollywood Reporter, perfectly captures the energy that made the original comic so compelling.

Much like The Last Man on Earth I will hate this simply because the name of the show does not align with the premise.

Whatever the eye-equivalent of "ears perking up" is for seeing something, that's what I did when I saw "Imogen Poots."

Looks like you and I arrived to the party at the same time. I just finished season 1 last night. Such a good show.

About halfway through season 2. The cast is perfect.

I still chuckle at the new shows. Like any show there are bad episodes, but they are few and far between.

Andre Braugher is absolutely phenomenal in that show.

Russian Doll was great. Very refreshing, and at 8 25 minute episodes, very bingeable.

Vince Gilligan is creating so I'm in. I didn't think there was any way Better Call Saul would work as a series and he proved me wrong immediately. I'll now watch anything he does.

From glimpsing at that article, the premise seems to be that the series didn't provide adequate closure. I don't understand why people think the BB finale didn't provide that.

I think it provided closure for the Walter White storyline. I'm kind of interested to see what they do with a Pinkman story.

Eh, I never really cared about the Jesse story lines that diverged from Walter.

Seems like it's a one off movie. So I'm ok with that.

I think we did. Glossing over the reality of Jesse’s situation was probably the biggest offense of that finale (and there were a few). He drove away right into a bunch of cop cars. Who were about to find video of him making the world’s supply of blue meth. He had no money or prospects. He was being tortured for months. He will feel responsible for Andrea’s death. And Villigan goes on the after show just hoping things work out for the guy, by golly.

Nuh uh, Vince. Use that big clever brain of yours to get him out of his immediate pickle and find the man some actual peace.

Same. Or at least considerably less than the Walter stuff.

I wasn’t a fan of how they left it with Jesse, so a quick movie about him is fine by me.
