Watched the first season of The Walking Dead while I had nothing to do yesterday. It was okay... does it get better from here?

Watched the first two episodes last night...the only thing keeping me watching it right now is the acting of Coach Taylor and my crush on Linda Cardellini.

I mean it is not terrible and I think it has a lot of potential, but it is not a "normal" show in the way it is shot and chronologically presented.
Bloodline gets better as it goes on. I was probably 3 or 4 episodes in and still thinking about quitting but I'm glad I stuck with it. It's not "must see tv" but it's interesting how it all plays out,

okay... I didn't really enjoy it enough to devote more time to it if it doesn't get a whole lot better than season 1.

The Walking Dead gets A LOT better once Scott Gimpel takes over towards the end of Season three.

It's a zombie show. There's a ceiling as to how good it can really be. I'd say, overall, it's much better than I expected it to be but not as good as it could be for a variety of reasons, but mostly due to poor acting and writing.

the acting and writing have been fixed (at least with the main characters). the story choices are still a problem too often.

I was leafing through the first issue at work yesterday and I have to say that - despite the many flaws - I've really enjoyed the show much more than I ever would have expected. Partially because I'm neither a comic nor zombie movie fan connoisseur in general.

I mentioned in the Bibliophile thread that I recently finished the first Compendium of the comics. Generally I think the decisions to err from the comics have been poor (only positives in my mind are...
the addition of Darryl/Merl and Carol on Tv is better than Carol in the comics by light years
But I also agree that Darabont......Gimple.........................................................Mazzara

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/04/22/mu ... more-adult
ABC’s pilot presentation—which the network is considering for a straight-to-series order—follows Jim Henson’s iconic characters behind the scenes as they launch a new TV show. The presentation from Big Bang Theory co-creator Bill Prady and Anger Management writer-producer Bob Kushell is described as having a 30 Rock feel. The series will be shot mock-documentary style, like Arrested Development and The Office.

Even more interesting: In what’s being billed as a first for The Muppets, the personal lives of the characters will be explored. ABC’s official new logline reads: “The Muppets return to prime time with a contemporary, documentary-style show that—for the first time ever—will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, break-ups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires; a more adult Muppet show, for kids of all ages.”

They tried and adult-themed version of The Muppets on SNL 40 years ago. It was awful.

Seriously, it's OK for there to still be shows that are geared towards kids without having some kind of darker theme to them. We could use a good variety show that appeals to kids in the evening.

I didn't see it mentioned, though I might've missed it, but Marvel's Daredevil has been renewed for a second season on Netflix. Probably the least shocking renewal I've seen in years given the rave reviews.

I thought that was Stephanie.
I know she went through some tough times, but she looks good now. I've always had a crush on her though.

Here's your girl, lookin' all kinds o' fine.

Sesame Street does an amazing job with celebrity guest spots. Think of how great a Muppet Show would be with someone like Jon Hamm or Amy Poehler. They're overcomplicating things. Give me Muppets, celebrities and silly skits and songs and call it a day.

Oh and feel free to leave Clifford out of it.

Is there any competition for Kathryn Winnick being the defacto hottest woman on a active TV show these days?
