Fallout tonight! Hype!

Whatchathink?
I'm trying to pace myself and only watched ep. 1, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Excellent attention to detail with regards to visuals and sound effects. Loved the
fight between the raiders and dwellers with the retro music playing

Nice. We might watch it. I've never played the games but the wife was interested in the trailer.

I don’t know if I’m just in a funk or if the current offering of shows just sucks but I’ve tried a few recently and struggled to stay interested past two episodes. 3 Body Problem had a decent hook but by episode 2 it got so silly that I tapped out. Plus the acting is absolutely horrendous. I wanted to like The Regime but I just find myself bored during it.

Once Shogun finishes up I’ll give that a go. If I’m not feeling that one, it’s probably an “it’s not you, it’s me” thing.

There's no way to be disappointed with Shogun. Unless you don't like reading subtitles or something, and even then there are ways around doing that.

You watched Patriot, right? If not, I recommend that.

The Gentlemen - from Guy Ritchie - just out on Netflix is good as well.

Shogun might be one of the best shows I have watched in years. Its been absolutely brilliant. But...that may just be hyping it too much

Shōgun is about as good as TV gets imo. Like this is about the maximum expression of a dramatic narrative the medium is capable of delivering in 2024. Two more hours of story to go, I hope they stick the landing.

I had one technical quibble with some of the camera work in the early episodes, and some of the 'shocking violence' has been almost more silly than gory, but other than that I have no notes.

I manifestly do not want a second season. Die the hero, do not live long enough to have a Starbucks cup on the dinner table.

The original discussion was spoilered more out of caution (it's based on a 50-year old book that was adapted for TV when Jimmy Carter was President). But they've apparently wandered pretty far afield from the book at this point, so from about Ep 6 on it has been genuine spoiler territory. :thumb:

I still think Anjin's voice - a deliberate choice by the actor - sounds like Richard Burton. And I'm digging it.

A new “Heroes” reboot series is in development from creator Tim Kring, Variety has confirmed.

The reboot, titled “Heroes: Eclipsed,” is set years after the events of the original superhero series, as new evolved humans are discovering their powers. Kring is executive producing “Heroes: Eclipsed” with his manager, Mosaic’s Jordan Cerf. Casting has yet to be announced.

That was surprisingly cut for time. Last nights episodes was really solid even without that one though. The Beavis and Butthead sketch was one of my favorites this season.

Gotta wonder if they did rehearsals in less-than-complete wardrobe or makeup, cos the instant Gardner saw them it was lost. haha

 100% this. You can see Gosling and Day laughing at her reaction almost like a 'i know, right?' at how awesome they look.

I also love the fact that Gosling just seems to enjoy the hell out of doing the show. Doesn't try to take himself seriously...he's just there to have fun.

Kudos to the background actors in that Beavis and Butthead sketch. How none of them broke during that entire skit was a miracle. So good.

My wife has been watching OITNB, and occasionally I’ll watch it with her. I must say, the show was much better before the riot.

It was magical. Good choice to not have them try to do the voices either.

Shōgun ep 9
Akechi Mariko RIP

Interesting to me that this was Crimson Sky.

Yabu gonna Yabu. His underworld connections came back to play a role here, but part of me still wonders if there's some other rhyme to the reason. There wasn't for the real person Yabushige is based on, but he's the best character in the show so I kinda don't want him to suck. lol

Ochiba is still super creepy.
Between The Last Of Us and Shōgun I have had a fantastic year of TV.

Shogun 9 was excellent. Really peak TV. Red Wedding level (although not the same type of event, just execution)
