Thundercats still holds up well, as does the original X-Men.
Yeah X-men holds up. I watched that whole thing like 2 or 3 years ago

There’s a couple listings that tell you the actual order to watch the episodes in because Fox Kids was apparently a giant mess.

Rogue in the X-Men cartoons is a such a superior version compared to what they did in n the movies.

If the new law and order svu season is an indication, the country is completely nuts.

First episode, crazy mail order sex dolls pushing men to kidnap and rape.

Second episode, Olivia helps a woman overcome her sjw disease so that she can testify against her black rapist. Completely deranged

The first two episodes of Masters of the Air are out, and to no surprise, are very good. Nice to watch them in 4K, too, as Apple TV+ doesn't upcharge for 4K (yet).
I've only watched episode 1 so far but I thought it was solid. not a fan of Austin Butler but I get that he has a good look for those 40s and 50s period pieces.

Honestly, I like the sex doll storyline in Loudermilk better

Thought first episode was decent, but definitely feels like we are missing out on some character development with them jumping right in. I liked how Currahee setup BoB

I liked the Goodfellas style narrated walk through the officer's club in Greenland. Let's be honest - most of us didn't get the BoB characters down until a few times through the series. It's going to be tougher with this series because of the sheer number of characters and masks/googles.

For those of you who have watched Monarch, is there a lot of content requiring subtitles? The videos I downloaded don't have subs, and the first two episodes had quite a bit of Japanese scenes that I obviously didn't understand.

TMNT cartoons do not hold up, imo. I get why I liked them as a kid but there’s not a whole lot there for an adult.
That's what I feared. Loved them as a kid. Probably too "kiddy" for me now.

GI Joe I feel held up really well.

I've heard many say He-Man does not hold up well at all.

I never really hear anyone say anything about Transformers.
You inspired me to download the full run of The Real Ghostbusters. That was by far my favorite show as a kid.

I can't answer this question specifically, but do you watch on a Plex install? I've had really good luck with their subtitles import function. I remember the good old days of going to subscene and searching for a good subtitle file. Plex does this for you, and it's usually spot on.

I’m in the process of downloading the subtitles and new videos now, so I can use ffmpeg to get them in there.

I'm struggling watching the DIC GI Joe. Holy crap did it go down hill BAD. Just the animation, writing, etc. The Sunbow cartoon was awesome. DIC, not so much.

But completionist me, I have to suffer through 40 more.

My brother and I used to giggle at the outro that says "Deeek" for the DIC studio:

It wasn't exactly like that, but the DEEK part is spot on.

All this 80s cartoon talk lead me to rewatch Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue. It's basically a 22 minute anti-drug PSA but this BLEW my mind as a kid. I would watch the VHS tape all the time. Rewatching now I realize how absolute bonkers it is.

I also watched the pilot promo and first episode of The Real Ghostbusters. That show is still a lot of fun. I don't know if I'll complete a full rewatch but I'll throw on an episode every now and then.

It certainly helps if you read the book, the names are at least familiar. But even at that, when we re-watched the series a year or so ago, the whole time I was like "...................." for half the cast.

If I ever knew, I've since forgotten how bomber crew training was organized in 194[x], but one of the reasons they were able to do the pre-combat stuff in BoB was because that was how the Army did training for Airborne units, and Ambrose reflected that. They were all-volunteer, and the thinking was it would maximize their early combat effectiveness if units were stood up, trained, deployed, and entered the war with years of experience as a unit under their belts. That's partly why they had such disdain for the replacements. Don't know if bomber crews were similarly organized.

I finished watching the Ray Donovan series last night, then saw they made a movie to tie up the loose ends. I went to Paramount+ with Showtime to watch the movie today. It's not there. The movie is a 9.99 rental. F all of these companies.

For the hardcore 80s/early 90s kid I was, I never really got into The Real Ghostbusters or Thundercats. Yes, I watched them, but never were as hardcore as I was with Transformers, TMNT, GI Joe and He-Man.

I don't think the old Voltron holds up, either. That said, the Voltron: Legendary Defender remake was outstanding, and worth a watch.

Yeah I was the opposite. Loved Ghostbusters, Thundercats, and TMNT, but never got into GI Joe, Transformers, or He-Man. Add Muppet Babies, Inspector Gadget, Garfield and Friends, Duck Tales, Tom & Jerry, David the Gnome, and Noozles to my list too. Later on, I would watch all the Nicktoons like Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats, Rocko, Hey Arnold, and Angry Beavers.

I remember being heavily into the 80's TMNT cartoon same for GI Joe and Transformers. I also remember watching alot of Duck Tales/Darkwing Duck/Rescure Rangers.

For as much as I love Ghostbusters I don't really remember being into the real ghostbusters cartoon. Never got into He-man or thunder cats either.

Was big on the nicktoons stuff like Doug, Rugrats, Ren&Stimpy etc.
