I only knew him from WTAE AM. I think they fired most of their on-air talent in the late 90's after I left Pgh.

Can’t have someone doing 7 mins of good radio between 15 min blocks of commercials.

Tab is great--I used to listen sometimes streaming on the weekends.

I wonder how long sports radio will last, with podcasts on every team/sport/league available everywhere for free. Sure, they have ads, but usually not as obnoxious as commercial radio.

I would say there are a lot that just aren't good though. Aside from the mega national ones, it's bottom of the barrel folk who couldn't make radio doing Podcasts in Pittsburgh, imo.

I had the misfortune of tuning into the 105.9 the xs morning show. My god is it terrible

I spent the weekend in WV and wasn't able to play podcasts as I drove around. I found some classic rock stations that played music probably at least 50 minutes an hour, it was pretty shocking after listening to WDVE/Matt Mertz Plumbing radio for so many years. Made me wonder if commercial radio is only complete **** in major metro areas because it was pretty okay when the station was coming out of Huntington, WV.
