Who else has the DK Pittsburgh Sports app installed? I have iOS notifications turned on for it and it seems like lately they send a notification for everything that is posted, not just news updates. Seems like there used to be less notifications or maybe it’s just me?

I assume Matt Cullen is retiring due to the Pens putting out some video that everyone is replying to with crying emojis.
So, I also assume that somewhere, Yohe weeps.
Is this really worthy of crying over? Good lord. I can see perhaps shedding a tear when Sid plays his last game, but come on.

Matt Cullen was a very good hockey player for a long, long time. I assure you he is a better person. Covering him for a few seasons was a privilege. Honest, thoughtful, accountable...you name it. He earned his nickname.

Apparently, DK cleared the story with Cervelli and Pirates management before the story ran last week. Cervelli had no issues with the content, but wanted DK to hold the story until another doctor’s appointment on Wednesday. Pirates management had no issues.
I’m thinking Cervelli’s change is because he’s a free agent this off season without (potentially) a position. His agent probably freaked out about it, and needed to walk the story back. Might as well throw the media hack under the bus at the same time.

Mackey talked about CervelliGate this morning on the Fan Morning Show. He said that a voice recorder was not present in that interview between DK and Cervelli and now it’s a he said/he said type deal. Mackey also said that having a recorder present is pretty much journalism 101 lol. Sick burn there. Hopefully he doesn’t feel DK’s wrath.

This is my thinking on it, everyone pretty much greenlit a retirement post without really thinking that he wants to try and earn a good paycheck next year.
