Given that MM had one heart attack already, I'm surprised he's so heavy. He had dropped a lot of weight at one point, just after his heart attack.

Paul Zeise was all over it last night, i was unfortunately in the car in the 7 o'clock hour.

Speaking of Zeise, he seriously made a tweet complaining about how cable news talks nonsense.

If I remember, he always seems to bring up betting lines and such on his show so I assume he is involved in that.

I think he had some semi-cryptic tweet after the Pens loss that he would miss covering aspects of the team. I didn't think much of it at the time but it makes sense now. Def. won't read the City Paper now. I would love to see his editorial meetings.

Well i would say citipaper is an upgrade over upgruv, which says a lot more about upgruv than it does the citipaper

There was something in the city paper every week that I would read while at Pitt but I don't have any idea what it would be.

Back in my college days (2003-2007, which wasn’t very long ago at all), the trib still had a pm edidition, which came out around 4 or 5 in the afternoon and was free. Plus we got free post gazettes and WSJs at school. Plus the random city paper. Plus the pitt news. Even though i don’t really care for the post gazette, and the trib is a joke, i still love reading the paper and i hate to see it die.

that free paper that usually sits in front of your franchise restaurants like B-Dubs, QS&L, etc. that is very Pittsburgh-centric and provides a lot of info on music, food, and entertainment. I haven't picked one up in 2-3 years, so I'm sure somebody else can give a better description. I thought I saw a similar concept in Columbus a few years ago.

If you tend to lean right, you may not like a majority of the articles in there.

I'm sure that baby will slowly dominate their show.

Although I have to give them credit, they cut off a caller who started to ask how him and Joe were doing. They both said that they were doing fine and for callers to stop asking. Of course they said it in a non-angry way, but it is nice for them to say that. Of course in classic fashion at 4:06PM today they mention "finally, you have been holding so long.." take a bad call about MAF vs Fleury. Address the call for a minute then them two start talking. Then at 4:12 they cut for a break.

Part of The Fan's problem is low quality callers. When they only take three calls an hour, you need to be ready to go with a good quality call. Not make small talk or act like you have never talked on the phone before, or the worst reception in the world.

There is maybe like one informed sports talk radio caller, Titleman, and he only wants to talk about Pitt.

Ktk is chuck from uniontown

Anyways, anyone with half a brain doesn’t bother calling the can because they treat the callers like garbage. No one wants to wait for 25 minutes. No one wants to talk to those sht birds. And they don’t listen to you point anyways.

Oddly enough, pompenani seems to take more calls than anyone else.

Any thoughts on Sam Werner leaving the Pens beat?

I like Sam’s work. Liked him as the Pitt beat writer, like him as the Pens writer. If this means double the articles from Mackey well then we’re all screwed, but this
I’ve accepted a Batten Media Fellowship to pursue my MBA at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, and will begin the two-year, full-time MBA program in Charlottesville this fall. My plan is to stay in sports and/or sports media, but shift to the management and business side of the industry.
sounds like a career upgrade for Werner.

Pittsburgh Dad Jr. is losing it on the Twitter.

"Was Kessel hurt or did he just play bad in the playoffs."

*Someone answers what they think since no one knows*

"Oh so now we're just supposed to assume?"
