Haven’t heard anything bout Dejan... did Madden eat him alive?
Did Madden get a tape of the three way? If so, can we expect a detailed review?
The DK, Kaboly, Yohe three-way? I'm sure he's seen it.

For reasons unbeknownst to even myself I have been periodically tracking DK's subscriber count since the opposite of scathing Deadspin article was released. Down a total of 476 subscriptions while also adding 5 lifetime subscriptions. This month he's only lost 119. I'm sure the numbers will continue to drop as subscriptions expire, but overall that article appears to have had little impact on his business.

Isn't a loss of almost 500 subs a lot? I have no idea what his site costs.

Its $3.99 a month, $30 a year

Assuming 400 of them are monthly subs, that is $1600 of revenue lost per month right there. Not huge but for a business he has that can be a big amount. That could be half someone's paycheck

i would imagine the goal would be to gain subscribers each month so this would be bad

Yeah, last year I think he was gaining subs every month up to about almost 40K. Then now it seems to be falling off based on what DD is posting.

There has been a general downward trend in subscriptions for a while now. The point was that the total amount lost since the Deadspin article is a little over 1% of the subscriber count, with almost 70% of those losses occurring in the week following the article. If we assume that every non-lifetime subscriber does the $30 a year option (which obviously isn't the case) the site is still making well over $1.1MM a year via subscriptions. If you assume that 25% of subscribers were swayed enough by the Lunatic Brick to go with a three year subscription we're still over $1MM/year in subscriber revenue.

Of course, all of this is ignoring the fact that they don't refund cancellations. Unless all of the 476 lost subscribers to date were simply due to expirations he's still getting money from some of those people. I've never been a subscriber but based on Twitter reactions and input from people who have subscribed, his cult base is so strong that it'll probably keep him in business for a while.

On the topic of subscriber support for Pittsburgh sports news websites.... Pittsburgh Hockey Now is up to 35 Patreon supporters. With pledges of $3 or $5 the website is generating less than literally hundreds of dollars a month.

I honestly don't understand that website, and why anyone would tie themselves down with Bud Moonshine. The fact that they brand themselves as "outsiders, unwanted" is enough for me to just immediately ignore them. The Upgruv of sports websites.

I just did for the first time. Saw this:

"About Us
upgruv - (up•groove) - A personalized content service aimed at busy professionals that offers a mix of trending news from western Pennsylvania and beyond."

Then I clicked the X on my tab. No thanks.

Has anyone checked out The Incline? Me neither

Me: You guys need an Aries. Penguins championship teams always have one at least. Trust me. Strong personalities.

GMJR: Didn’t last year.

Me: Hainsey!

GMJR: Oh...I’m an Aquarius. But I’m on the Pisces cusp. I know about this stuff

I'm trying to figure out the point in time that something goes thru Yohe's head where he thinks, I gotta tweet that story about this brief, inane, unfunny back and forth I had with Rutherford.
Altho maybe I should blame his followers for encouraging him. Going thru the replies on a Josh Yohe tweet makes me want to bash my skull in with a hammer and then go join a new fan base.

The responses to his Tweets are from the absolute worst of the worst of the Pens fanbase. Knitting Lady tier.

Honestly though, it’s a big part of the reason people love Josh.
