TIL that Seth Rorabaugh was previously employed at The Athletic.

Yeah, I had honestly forgotten about him. He was such a huge part of the early social media coverage of the Penguins 10+ years ago, but was really limited over the last few years. Not sure what happened there.

He had a tweet on June 7th with a guy riding a horse into the distance so it sounds more like he left on his own terms. He did something similar when he was with DK for a week. I honestly think he was just getting tired of the writing game.

Working with PHWA now as a social media person instead of a writer.

That he was at The Athletic. I liked Empty Netters in its day but had no idea he was still part of Pittsburgh sports media.

That is a still shot from the end of Shane.

Empty Netters was one of the first Penguins blogs I read with regularity. I really enjoyed it back then, and remember I was disappointed to hear it was being discontinued. Honestly, seeing the way these guys bounce around from place to place...that has to be a tough existence unless you "make it" like the big names of the world.

DK had a Q&A on his site over the weekend where people could ask anything they wanted about the site, local media, former staffers, etc. I guess DK had a written a column about former staff and events instead but Dale Lolley killed it. It was there where DK said Seth had been fired by the The Athletic. I was surprised because I hadn’t heard that anywhere else at that point.

Someone asked why Mueller from the Fan has a beef with DK (it involves a drunk Mueller yelling awkwardly at a Fan event that he hated DK about an NBA comment DK made. This is definitely a typical Mueller reaction) and someone also asked about Kaboly (DK said Kaboly knew what he did and they had written proof of it. Wonder what he did? And Kaboly couldn’t keep out of other people’s business) Now this is all DK’s words so take it for what it’s worth.

Here are some screenshots of the Mueller and Kaboly comments: https://imgur.com/a/9GobXxO

though I will grant him some level of credit because it probably is a pretty good business opportunity to try and profit on the fact that the Pittsburgh sports media is full of juveniles and idiots.

Well, at least Lolley is an adult I guess.
Wonder what he did?
Helped 7 kids defeat the Fratelli crime family and escape a grotto that was housing a lost pirate ship called the Inferno.

Lolley seems the only one interested in actually running it like a business and just keeping your head down. There's no doubt as much as DK says he doesn't like living in the drama, the dude LIVES in the drama.

Funny he did this just a few days before their 5th Anniversary Subscriber event. No way would I go to that

He did say him and Yohe talked things over and are on good terms now and that Yohe was the only former staffer DK wanted to make up with lol

EDIT: I forgot this: Someone asked about what happened to Cody Tucker (that dude from Wyoming? that DK hired out of nowhere to cover the Pens). DK said Cody had been told numerous times to get a passport so Cody could travel to Canada and I guess he refused. Then Cody showed up at the PIT airport to fly to Montreal and he was turned away. DK said it all cost him $3300 and Cody was fired after that. Crazy. Again, this is all DK’s words.

Out of all of them, Yohe did the best job, and Athletic probably gave him an offer he absolutely couldn't refuse.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by that picture. Never really noticed her before, she’s out of his league. DK looks like a slob.

Ummm yeah. You're falling off a 20-25 foot high platform into water with the probability of bruised/broken bones as a result of impact. Did this guy do any research on the subject beforehand?

Edit: wait, he was 70 and did this?

Yea the two thumbs up thing is pretty damning, but I wonder if the argument there is adrenaline.
