NAN's old user name was the catalyst to get people to start wanting a new area built.

If I had to fill several hours of radio a day I'd investigate all outlets to see what kind of content I can use to fill that time. Seems pretty obvious to me.

eh. He's contrarian for the sake of being contrarian at times. He's learned a schtick that gets him listeners and a local celebrity level career. I have an hour commute home and his show is a time filler.

Drama today at the Pittsburgh Sports Media High School: https://twitter.com/PaulZeise/status/972135323085000705

Something about Pittsburgh Dad Jr. has some sources that said Pitt offered Stallings like a $4 buyout and when he wouldn't take it they fired him with cause citing the Louisville comments in January as the reason. I don't know the whole story but I think that is the gist. Correct me if I am wrong. I didn't hear it first hand because I can't sit through 20 minutes of commercials and updates. Considering Pittsburgh Dad Jr. is a blowhard I take it with a grain of salt.. and Zeise going to bat for Colin. Hey, on the home of the Panthers too

I'm sure most of what he is saying is true, however I don't think it is even close to the entire story and the FAN media are treating it as is. I think they are also butthurt because Pitt didn't give a presser.

Coaches leave before their contracts are up
Coaches ask for raises all the time
players leave before their four years are done
players leave as grad transfers

no one honors sht in college athletics

yet pitt is castigated for trying to weasel out of a bad buyout

I don't get it.

Especially the "other college hires coach" and the original school always wants the full buyout that most always gets negotiated down from the new school.

For those of us who are not interested, March Madness = death of sports media for 3 weeks every year. It cannot be escaped.
I used to think this never affected me, because I never watched sports programming anyway. Then I tuned into TBS last Thursday to watch Seinfeld, and raged out when I saw that bball was on.

Go away, march madness.
Stupid gotdam march madness.

March Madness is destroys sports talk radio, but is still less terrible than the NBA playoffs effect.

My daily podcast just tells you on Monday that the entire week will be spent listening to people recite team names in various orders for 20-30 minutes at a time and if you don't like it just delete. So I oblige. Checked in today and they had one of the hosts kid doing it. Nope nope nope.

The Steelers destroy sports talk radio around here pretty much every day of the year.

Ah yes, the time of year when everyone becomes experts on college basketball. I don't care for basketball but I fill out a bracket every year and watch it get slaughtered.

This is a rare positive comment ;) , but Brian Batko handles himself quite well on the radio. it also helps to bring home the point that the Penguins have the worst dedicated media in the city.
