Article Title: Ron Cook: JuJu Smith-Schuster shines, but Steelers miss Martavis Bryan
http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/ron- ... 1710300072

i sat down to grind an axe but the head broke off so i sharped the handle; closet full of other dull axesI sat down late Sunday night and started writing about how much the Steelers missed Martavis Bryant against the Detroit Lions. JuJu Smith-Schuster then made the offensive play of the NFL’s half-season in their 20-15 win.

BRoeth's play has dipped this year, it seems like Bryan't success is dependent on Roethlisberger being able to deliver passes accurately. Brown is great and can adjust to the ball in the air, win jump balls, and make plays after the catch. Smith-Schuster is looking like a playmaker too.
Ron Cook is just dumb.

I have decided that every time @slappybrown decides to bump a random thread from the annals of 5af that I am going to dig deep into this thread for a solid quote from someone dodinting about the sports media. This gem is from page 24that's probably user errorI feel this way when I read your posts.I listened to about five minutes of DK interviewing Yohe regarding the Pirates; DK was filling in for Madden.
I gained no deeper knowledge about the Pirates, no new understanding could be extracted from their telling. There was no reason for them to tell me any of the things they said. This radio segment meant nothing….

lol tops
This gentleman's official position is that he loves to engage in the discourse but does not wish to create additional new threads when perfectly fine existing threads are available.

Kicksavegate isn't really a big deal but the only thing that is a slight hindrance to me is not knowing who's quoted in posts like the above. I will survive

Little late on this, but one thing I gotta give DK credit for is basically having a very solid replacement for Kaboly in Dale Lolley seemingly lined up, in the wings. Was literally next man up. Murray hurt? Bring in Fleury. Romo hurt - in comes Dak.
Next man up.
Next man up.

I think that was because Kaboly actually have enough notice to line up an adequate replacement. Yohe emailed DK and his wife and a few minutes later announced he was at the Athletic.

Lolley is very much an upgrade, imo. Very good writer, but the bar was set pretty low over there for Steelers coverage.

Honestly though, who needs DK or the Athletic when you have Steelers Depot? Crap layout, but it’s a free site with many write ups. Following Dave, Alex Kozora and Matthew Marczi on Twitter and reading some of their analysis here and there is just fine for me.

Pittsburgh Dad Jr. must be on vacation this week. I've listened to the Fan for two days in a row and it's instantly better than anything he's done.
