It might surprise a lot of you, but I agree with a lot of what John has to say.

Well, except his over-glorification of the 70's Steelers to the point that he believes Terry Bradshaw is better than Tom Brady.

I think John is just a permanently cynical person. But he has always been that way. What you see is what you get. In fact, I tend to agree with him a lot. I remember reading his books when they came out, probably one of the few people in their 20’s to read them.

Havn't seen him in 20 years, but I remember John Steigerwald being a miserable person.
There was a discussion about this commercial on twitter and he didn't seemed too thrilled that we were laughing at it. Next thing you know I was blocked.

I liked his takedown of Travels with Charlie. Get bent, Steinbeck.

Pittsburgh Dad Jr. has this same argument every few months. For being so against telling people how to feel, he's very open on telling people how to feel.

He's trash.

John Steigerwald is Abe Simpson with a victim complex.

A lot of people think I'm all Team MM, but I think this take is a bit much. Some guy called in asking "At what age should you stop wearing another man's name and number?" (like jersey) and he got all on his high horse saying he hasn't worn one that wasn't as a gag since he was 15... "Once you're an adult, act like an adult".

And I'm not even a big jersey guy. But what is so wrong/childish about wearing one?

It might shock you to know, but Steigerwald trolled his way to national laughingstock years ago by saying that the guy who got stabbed at a Dodgers' game had it coming because he was wearing a Bonds' jersey.

Maybe someone can ask Stow, if he ever comes out of his coma, why he thought it was a good idea to wear Giants' gear to a Dodgers' home opener when there was a history of out-of-control drunkenness and arrests at that event going back several years.
He did actually say that.

"Had it coming" and what he says there are two different things.

Being smart about surroundings is not saying people deserve it.

He was beat up, not stabbed, btw.

I’m not sure what else is to be implied by stating someone needs to be aware of their surrounding. But also, we are supposed to accept that wearing giants gear to a dodgers game is like wearing the wrong colors at a gang neighborhood.

You have a predisposition against Steigerwald for his political views, it is not surprising you take the worst possible reading of what he says.

Not really. John S is a known hardcore conservative. It's not that unreasonable to think TL is biased.

His take on that particular situation was consistent with everything he said for a decade or two about how he thinks it's silly that grown men wear jerseys to games.

To make it like this was uniquely bad form is a reach.

Steigerwald has the unique ability to have stupid takes on plurality of issues.

Steigerwald’s politics is bland boomer conservatism.

But yeah, I of course would never criticize a liberal that **** on a guy in a coma for wearing a jersey

And also, I would not wear a sports jersey, I also think they are juvenile. But what’s even dumber is to care if other people like them. And what’s even dumber than that, is trying to dunk on a guy in a coma for wearing a jersey.

This is Pittsburgh. We take care of each other. I'm from Pittsburgh. I love Pittsburgh. Colony is a legend. Did I mention I'm from Pittsburgh and I love it.

After living in Pittsburgh my whole life, I’ve arrived at the decision there are a disproportionate amount of people here who aren’t happy unless they are mad about something — and it’s puzzling because of how great of a place this is.
I do.I absolutely love my hometown. Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. https://t.co/v2XCffIJlG
