Yea, I don't think they'd ever talk for 17 minutes, there's no way that's true. They probably do 3-4 updates every 30 minutes, which means that'd eat at least a minute+ of advertising. Doubtful.

OR ARE WE JUST OBSESSING ABOUT Pittsburgh Dad Jr.
Someone complained about it on twitter and he listed the times they talked this morning from 8-8:30. I don't know if that's actual talk time, or stupid fan morning updates included.

that's interesting, because we talked from 803-8:12 then 8:15-8:19.30 and then again 8:26-8:30.
I have it all timed out and documented.
I feel like 17 minutes is a decent amount of time, but I find that it's not 17 minutes of decent discussion. Filler and nonsense probably is half of that time.
Why am I having a hard time believing those times?

KTK is probably right when suggesting that those times may include Da Fan updates and probably the CBS Sports Update too.

I'm guessing 10 of those 17 minutes were Pittsburgh Dad Jr. making fun of Colony as well. Actual sports talk was probably 1 minute.

Yeah so there is no official station metric or stats to back up his claim, just him looking at his logs and eyeballing things making outrageous claims like usual. I doubt management actually cares.

An update: I had a cancerous tumor removed from my abdomen yesterday. Doctor is optimistic it hasn’t spread to the lymph nodes.

He can be a bit salty, but I've always enjoyed Perrotto as a radio guest. Hope he gets well soon.

Also, best hockey talk in town AINEC, but how predictable will Mark Madden be after the Penguins finally do get eliminated?

Someone here timed the morning show last year (two years ago?).
There were 32 minutes of "Sports Talk" and 28 minutes of "commercials".

What Pittsburgh Dad Jr. and the station consider "commercials" are only the paid advertisements.
We the listeners consider any break or deviation from the "Sports Talk" as a "commercial" break.

Traffic, weather, Colony sports update, CBS two minute drill, etc... the station does not consider as a "commercial".
They consider those those minutes into the timing for "Sports Talk".
They probably consider the 30-45 second long talk show host ad reads (My Pillow, mattress, plumbing, etc...) as "Sports Talk" also.

So yeah, to them they have like 35 minutes of "Sports Talk" per hour.
To us it sounds like 25 minutes per hour.

Sounds about right. What is worse is when they rush things to get into the "update" slots. They rush talking about a subject or with a caller only to have a harsh transition to pitching My Pillow or windows then eight minutes of commercials and updates. Its infuriating.

The best way to listen to their shows (if you can wait a day) is to listen on Radio.com. They break each show down into segments with topic titles and no commercials.

That's the B Team Bro Show for you. He is getting roasted for that poll on Twitter too. Poni did a similar Twitter poll earlier today but added in Brassard's name. Just f'n ridiculous.

The best and only to try and avoid those dumb topics is wait until the next day, load Radio.com, and listen to the segments you want commercial and update free.

And yet, he maintains a stress free job that the majority of males his age would be jealous of. Not a cube slave. Gets to sleep in. Money probably not the greatest but good enough as he lives a seemingly solid middle to upper middle class lifestyle.
