Considering my options most days for sports talk if I listen to the radio are the fan or crappy AM signal. I typically go with crappy AM signal.

Sports talk radio should be thanking AB this week.

Bingo. AB's antics have thrown a lot of the fan base off his scent.

The local yokels aside, if there's one national-type media personality I have a TON of respect for... this answer might surprise you... it's "El Presidente" - Dave Portnoy, the mind behind Barstool Sports.

I know - he's a masshole (of course) and Barstool is pretty clownish, personally I'm not a fan. But the way he's been able to appeal to a bunch of the "bro" and even the female, 20 something crowd has been VERY impressive. Hell, he even hired a brilliant mind, who is a female mind you, to be CEO.

As much as the likes of MM and other haters make fun of Barstool - it literally always wins. Trash it all you want. There was a video of one of the Chicago Barstool guys losing his mind over the Bears' loss last weekend, which was ridiculous but Portnoy put it best: "Imagine getting paid to talk about sports and then not understanding fans getting mad about a double doink playoff loss."

Fact of the matter is, at a 9 figure valuation. Hate it or love it, It isn't going anyway any time soon, and all the Barstool folks are laughing all the way to the bank.

That reads like a cheesy promotion article. Of course, Ned likes Portnoy.

Pitt Basketball got a big win last night. Poni opens the show complaining that the fans didn’t storm the court after. Yep.

If they stormed the court, guess what he would open up the show complaining about...

What is Pittsburgh Dad Jr.’s obsession with this Mike Holden guy from WPXI???https://twitter.com/colin_Pittsburgh Dad Jr./status ... 36512?s=21

And the morning show had the KDKA weatherman (Ron Smiley? I clicked off when I heard this segment) on the air this morning. Why?? This is supposed to be sports talk!

Pittsburgh Dad Jr. has like 2 maybe 3 go-to routines. "Semi-known local media personality IS A LEGEND" is one of them.

I'm convinced 99% of the time that's his way of ripping on the person. Kind of like when he was obesessed with the poor yinzer guy on the news that was sweeping his sidewalk when some sort of disaster happened in Homestead - he was CLEARLY ripping on the guy. But anyone that tried to call him on it got "whaddya mean, I said he's a LEGEND!"

"I'm FROM PITTSBURGH SO MY TAKES ARE SERIOUS" is another that's real dumb.

Like I care that he's from a dump of a town (I used to live real close to Etna and have no positive thoughts of that entire area)

There was a good bakery in Sharpsburg, at least back in the late 80s, when I lived up the hill in O’Hara Twp. A couple of good local pizza places too...

Turned on the morning show today and they were talking about shoveling snow (?) and then a commercial. I turned it off and went elsewhere. They aren’t much different than the 100.7 or 96.1 morning shoes at this point.
