Benz blocked me on Twitter. I told someone he must follow I thought he wasn't any good. I was blocked immediately. I consider it a win.Tim Benz is a moody manlet who shops in the kids section and hasn’t been physical able to play a sport his entire life. He should be forced to cover Syracuse football for eternity.

So I listened from 8-8:15 this morning and I don't understand how they say there are fewer commercials. There were two "scripted" readings by Jeff Hathorn that lasted roughly 30 seconds each and 1 2-3 minute segment, the rest of the time were commercials.

Well it happened. Audge jumped ship at DK for the Athletic. And with that, DK, I’m out. She was the main reason I still even subscribed. No one even comes close when it comes to PSU coverage.

Ah, it was the Athletic. He announced her leaving a couple of weeks ago, but didn't say where she was going. I didn't mention it here because it tends to #trigger people. No need to get anyone worked up unnecessarily.

Yeah, I saw she was moving on a few weeks ago. He said she resigned professionally.

Who is "Audge"?
Edit: ahh, Audrey Snyder. Wow, that's a little surprising...I agree, her PSU coverage was superb.
I just looked at that tweet from The Athletic...surely the other shoe is going to drop at some point, right?

The Athletic's college coverage makes a B1G expansion with the addition of:

@CodyStavenhagen on Michigan
@audsnyder4 on Penn St
@jessetemple on Wisconsin
@ScottDochterman on Iowa

What idiots are peppering Orpik with this question? This was basically settled back in 2009.Sid vs. Ovi has been force-fed to the hockey-watching public starting back in the middle part of last decade, when Crosby and Ovechkin were in different divisions and the Penguins and Capitals had no recent playoff history.

http://awfulannouncing.com/athletic/the ... mpany.htmlThe Athletic, which now has 150 employees, has recruited top talent in markets such as San Francisco and Boston with premium salaries. An editor at a competing company said the Athletic offered his employees between 15% and 36% markups on their six-figure salaries to join the company.
In a departure from most media outlets, the Athletic is asking staffers to use their social-media accounts to promote discounted subscription offers and then giving them a small cut of subscription revenue from their local markets, people familiar with the company’s policies say. Journalists also get a small stake in the firm.

I have heard the compensation at the Athletic is excellent. But man, this is insuating multiple employees under an editor out there are making 6 figure salaries already at their current outlet, and the Athletic is offering up to a 36% increase on top of that? In addition to a stake in the firm?http://awfulannouncing.com/athletic/the ... mpany.htmlThe Athletic, which now has 150 employees, has recruited top talent in markets such as San Francisco and Boston with premium salaries. That’s looney toons. Though I guess bigger outlets in larger markets do pay their top talent more. Pretty sure I read DK was being paid just over $100k by the Trib.
With all that said though, they deserve it. These folks are generally the best of the best, and they do typically get underpaid for the amount of work they put in.

Deserve is a funny word. These are folks writing about other people playing children's games for a living.
