Pittsburgh Sports Media Thread

This is stupidly tough...

I would say
- Cook and Poni (they annoy me the least amazingly)
- Starkey and Mueller
- Morning Show
- Zeise

Starkey and Mueller I can tolerate because its only an hour* until 3PM and I then I switch to Madden. Occasionally I will switch back to 93.7 to see what they are talking about and its either a commercial, an update, some self promotion, or Mueller bragging about something while Madden has a good guest on or some good calls.

Morning Show is unlistenable because of Pittsburgh Dad Jr. and Colony's stuttering and misspeaks (He is a good guy though) get on my nerves. Zeise is like listening to an airhorn covered in diarrhea.

* = 15 minutes of actual sports talk

I know a lot of people here don't care for them but as a Pitt fan, I appreciated the fact that of the weekday regulars, Mueller, Starkey, and Zeise all talked rationally about the Pitt coaching search.

I don't listen to the Fan in the mornings because I don't care for Pittsburgh Dad Jr.. The one time I tuned in to Fillipponi and Cook was the day Hurley took the UConn job and FIllipponi was honestly giggling like a 7-year old on Christmas morning during the first couple of segments. Some of the comments he made were embarrassing even by his own standards (referring to the Pitt job as "a hellhole", for example), and Cook wasn't much better. They were the two local personalities who seemed to drive the narrative that Lyke was in over her head and that they had no plan.

At the very least, Mueller, Starkey and Zeise drove rational and thought-out discussion of it, never really buying into the idea that there was reason to panic even after Hurley turned Pitt down.

Heard the fan this morning for like 4 minutes, 2 of those minutes Pittsburgh Dad Jr. was being condescending to a woman caller - and the other 2 minutes Pittsburgh Dad Jr. was crying because he's tired of hearing people give him grief about wanting to go to a Pirate game.
