Colonial America used to be the world's biggest producer of rum. Triangle trade, n'at.

There's a small batch producer in Tennessee called Prichard's that I'm really interested in trying. Not so much that I'm willing to order a bottle online, mind you.

Do you mean Maggie's Farm? If so, you are definitely in the small minority on that one bruh. That's easily one of the top 3 or 4 distilleries in PA (and possibly *the* best). I got to try some a year or two ago and it was fantastic on the rocks.

Yea Maggie's Farm. For *Spiced* Rum, it's disgusting. It is not good - and it's way to spice dominated, it literally smells like potpourri.

I gotcha--yes it is definitely spice-forward. The favorite rum I have had in the last couple years is this:

Note, they had a regular rum option, but I selected spiced to see how it compared to other shelf type stuff. It comes nowhere close to Kraken, or Sailor Jerry's - imo.

Is that Kill Devil stuff on sale at OBX? I'm interested in the Pecans and Honey flavor.

You can visit Outer Banks Distillery in Manteo. It's a nice little stop.

I'm not expecting a world changer, but this should be good for the summer.

Manteo/Roanoke Island is a really fun half-day trip. They have a nice little aquarium there and some other stuff in the town. You can combine it with a trip down to Chip's too.

I know the homes are nice up in Corolla and Duck but we'd rather be in Nags Head or South Nags Head, just too far for routine trips.

Yea, see I prefer up north because I don't really even want to see fun other stuff. I just want to see the beach, booze, or the pool.

Picked up a bottle of slivovitz because I'd never tried it before. It's a little harsh, but I like the fruitiness. I may be weird on this, but IMO slivovitz goes nicely with Coke. It ends up with a Cherry Coke sort of vibe.

Yay slivo!

Had a box of whiskey (black box). Yikes, I'm glad that wasn't around when I was younger. Way better than it should be for $22. Maybe not a bad deal if you like mixers
