The old 'negative option'.

There was apparently no resolution to Mr Colby's situation posted to the thread. But having worked on the marketing for Groupon deals that were for free trials of subscription services that automatically converted to a paid subscription unless the consumer proactively canceled the subscription before the end of the trial, there are very strict guidelines for how that information is communicated to consumers. FTC rules require it be presented clearly, conspicuously, and in plain English at least once prior to entering payment info. Groupon would require it to be presented in the text of the offer itself, so for the stuff I worked on it meant consumers would see that twice.

Negative options are also a high priority enforcement area for the FTC, so companies are skating on thin ice if they get squiggly with disclosures.

lol that's a great pull slappy. We've been happy with it, but of course I would have been pissed in Colby's situation.

Had Angel's Envy bourbon last week. Bit lighter and sweeter. Enjoyable.

Nb, I am also a big Bulleit fan. Really high quality for the price.

To "celebrate" the eve of my 35th, finally cracked open my Kill Devil Rum with pecan. This is the first rum I've ever had on the rocks. What a game changer. Absolutely delicious.

Cabs aren't really my game, but I think Napa wines generally tend to alternate good years and bad years. What vintage is your bottle?

A couple things to note there. 2011 was an unusually cold and rainy growing season in Napa, and a lot of the higher end producers simply didn't release an '11 vintage. You're also a couple years past the prime window if it's a' Napa Cab™'. So know that going in this wine is probably not going to be representative of that winery's normal style of production.

There are few feelings better than that immediate warmth that hits you after you take your first big swig of bourbon.

Picked up a bottle of Widow Jane bourbon last week. Small batch specialty place out of NY. Outstanding. Rich and smooth.

Might head over to Taconic Distillery again this weekend. Went there on my last visit up to the in-laws in the Hudson Valley and loved it.

I got some of their whiskey in a gift basket I won at a cancer society event in Albany last year. It was pretty good but I am not a whiskey guy.

I also got a bottle of this out of Bklyn which is now my go to gin. Naturally PALCB does not sell is so have to get some when in NY. Polished off my last bottle tonight 😪

in laws cracked this from a trip to Scotland 12 years ago that they forgot about and found in a closet. I liked it.
