Went to an event this past saturday where I was able to taste a bunch of bourbon's and rye's. Still developing a taste for them so my ability to give good recommendations is minimal. That being said I really enjoyed Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye, not really sure how to describe these things other than to say it was the most pleasant and flavorful without being obnoxiously alcoholic of all the ones I sampled.

Twas gift a bottle of balvenie 15 year.

Slappy suggested I mix it with diet Pepsi and grenadine. I told him to fly a kite and he responded with "Your taste buds suck if you don't, cump. That's how I do my single malts"

I Googled this beverage and people seemed to not like the use of soft drinks. Why do you like it with diet Pepsi and grenadine?

I mentioned on Lgp a while back, I had some vvof at a wedding in Charlottesville, VA last year. It was fun listening to the guy be genuinely interested in bourbon, without it being pretentious in tone.

BTW, that magazine is totally goofing on the idea of southern gun shootin' culture, as it is named after the Garden and Gun Club...which was a gay bar in Charleston in the 80s.

My wife got me this book about whisky for Christmas that I just found time to start reading.

It's been an enjoyable read so far and it includes recipes for blends and drinks.

Going to the wigle whiskey tour tonight. I've never toured a distillery. The nerd in me is very excited to see it.

Went to Butcher in the Rye last night before the game. First time there, went just for a drink (the Alpine Slide w/ Old Grand Dad...my first bourbon). Really cool, happening place.

I LOVE Buffalo Trace, the restaurant I work at makes a manhattan with it and it's awesome.

Not a big liquor fan, love the taste but it gets me into trouble, but whisky is by far my favorite.

I like Knob Creek a lot. I really wanna try the Crown Reserve in a white bottle, not sure which one it was.

I like gin too, but my girlfriend hates me on gin. Tequila= To Kill Ya

favorite bitters? I see that they're not considered alcoholic beverages so you can order them online. I'm thinking about getting some regular bitters and some orange bitters.
