Buy her a bottle of bourbon when you buy your bottle of bourbon, and when she says "I don't like bourbon..." now you have 2 bottles of bourbon.
This is genius.

I am out of bourbon and all that's left is my wife's rum, which is nasty. Sad!
What rum and what purpose? (Meaning, R&C, straight, or some other concoction) I'm a rum guy, but I freely acknowledge that that there is a marked difference between rum and rum.

Ew

and

ew

Try Flor de Caña or Plantation or even J Wray. (All non-spiced, of course) Similar price points, much better quality and taste imo.

I buy rum once a year to make fruitcake. Whatever is left over from the baking usually gets added to cola. Most years I've been going with Gosling's Black Seal.

Switch the cola for ginger beer and you have a Dark 'N' Stormy.

I picked up Aberfeldy 12 a short time back, and finally opened it Saturday.

This is probably my favorite scotch I've ever tasted. Incredibly smooth, complex, and satisfying. Highly recommend.

I did not like the first Islay I tried, but would be willing to give that a shot.

There is no "only correct answer" for scotch. Anyone that believes so does not like scotch, and is just a hipster ******.

Wife went to get me a bottle of scotch for my birthday... my favorites are from islay, one of my all time favorites is Ardbeg Uigeadail, which she knows, but I already have an open bottle of that so she asked the dude at the liquor store to find something in that same vein. I thought I'd be getting something from laphroaig or maybe lagavulin. Hell even Talisker? Oban.... I got a bottle of Oban Distillers Edition.

To be fair, I cracked it open last night, and it is a mighty tasty beverage, but not the style of scotch that I like. Oh well... suppose I'll just have to drink the whole thing quickly so that I can get something better for Christmas.

Label in the image says 64.25%, that'd be 128.5, no?

I need to try a solid Islay. So far I like Highland better but the Islay I tried was not exactly well reviewed.

I found Jefferson's Reserve bourbon to be horridly overpriced and horridly distasteful.

Picked up some Jim Beam Double Oak Twice Barreled. This is some good stuff.
