See, I can never sustain that. I always lax at some point, and end up taking a nap.

Why would someone do that?whiskey-wine-beer-cigar is even worse.A whiskey-wine hangover is not great either.

I've found starting early and finishing early is where its at, but not always practical.

I've honestly never had a beer hangover. Never even really drank enough beer in one go to be shtfaced from it.I'll take a wine hangover over a beer hangover any day. A wine-beer hangover is a different story.

Certain bourbons are almost guaranteed headache the next day for some reason. My own entirely unfounded theory is that some have higher limestone and mineral content than others depending on where in KY they source their water from. Basil Hayden and Maker's do it every time, which is a shame because I really like Basil Hayden.

Brown liquors never give me much of a hangover. Clear ones leave me dead for days.

That's an interesting theory about bourbon. I had thought there was a geographic restriction on where the whiskey was produced to be called 'bourbon' (like a DOP thing), but apparently that geography is the whole of the Estados Unidos. (Provided it satisfies all the other requirements)

Any Kentuckian will tell you that the local water and its high concentration of limestone is what makes bourbon special, and what makes KY bourbon the best. That's an interesting theory about bourbon. Certainly, it's a perfect natural filter. The final product of any recipe is 100% dependent on the quality of your ingredients.

Trader Joes has ginger beer and sparkling juices. I got the ginger beer, sparkling pomegranate juice, and some gin... equal parts on ice, and you've got yourself one heck of a cocktail. Sans gin, and it's a good mocktail for the preggers wife. Just a little fyi for all yinz that like that kind of thing.

I picked up my first Islay Scotch (McClelland's), which from my understanding, is the cheapest one, as Islays are generally quite expensive. Wow, that's definitely an interesting flavor...I see what they mean by the descriptors of Islays that they taste like the ocean. I also now understand what "peat-forward" means

I'm reading that scotch is junk. But at $25 a bottle, I could see the appeal.

Well, that particular one is definitely on the economy side, but I thought the flavors were decent. So far, I've found that Canadian whisky is by far my favorite. That Lot 40 rye I had was fantastic.I'm reading that scotch is junk. But at $25 a bottle, I could see the appeal.

I just started drinking Canadian whiskey some and was pleasantly surprised. Nice sweetness to it.
For bourbon, recently got larceny, which I like almost as much as Bulleit.

Last night experienced my first glass stopper on a bottle of wine. A sangiovese from Italy. Pulled the foil and it took a few twists and tugs to pull it out.
Used it on another opened bottle to see if prevents spoilage.

Could it be...gluten?!?Certain bourbons are almost guaranteed headache the next day for some reason. ^works best with a Dana Carvey Church Lady inflection
Anyhoo...beer and wine make me sick pretty much constantly anymore so I've veered into the world of spirits. The ingredient of the month is cognac. Pretty tasty with ginger ale or prosecco

I don't think gluten can make it through the distilling process... I could be wrong, but a big ole protein like that? I can't imagine it making it through.
