C'mon Steelers, what r u doin?

*Nothing, as usual.
My guess is they don’t want to upset Ben or some other misguided “Steelers way.”

Given the terribleness of his play at the end of last season, have the Steelers decided that the best way to tank next season for high draft picks was to resign Ben and not sign anyone else who would be a bonafide starter?

Edelman cut by the Patriots and is retiring. Meanwhile, people are asking if he'll be in the HOF. That's when I saw Hines Ward trending, where everyone is basically saying 'put Hines in and then we'll think about talking about Edelman'.

For some reason, I watched Red Tails last night. The heroes of the Tuskegee Airmen deserved better.
Washington Red Tails. Get it done.

Going from a race based team name to a different race based team name would be very WFT.

if I were the czar of hte NFL my first preference would be to have the WFT work with local American Indian tribes to develop a respectful and honoring name/mascot, similar to the Florida State Seminoles. I feel like American Indian culture is generally hidden in the US and it disappoints me that American Indian culture isn't celebrated more

I know that might not be possible though (I've read opinions that some American Indians don't want to be reduced to mascots, which is completely understandable). In that case I would be ok with Red Tails but it would depend on how the mascot is illustrated. The history of the Tuskeegee Airmen is amazing but the phrase "red tails" conjures up a lame bird

I'd also be ok with them staying the "WFT" just for the novelty

When they first announced it, we all snickered and laughed. But after a season of them running with it, I'm where you are now and I kinda like it.

$1.75MM with a $500k signing bonus. More than I expected him to get.

The XFL and CFL could be headed for a long-term merger. In the short term, the two leagues are discussing interleague games and a potential championship game.

XFL contract...?
Vet minimum for a final shot at staying healthy for an entire season. $1.75MM fully guaranteed is a lot for a power RB who is afraid to get hit.

Sounds like Aaron Donald was causing problems back home over the weekend...

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/312 ... eports-say
A Pittsburgh attorney intends to seek assault charges against Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald on behalf of his client, according to multiple reports.

Attorney Todd Hollis told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Donald assaulted his client, DeVincent Spriggs, on April 11 at an after-hours club in the Pittsburgh area. The altercation left Spriggs with a concussion and other injuries, according to Hollis.

Football players are so dumb.
