I think the Chiefs have the potential to beat the 49ers by two touchdowns if Mahomes goes into god mode.

With that said I think the 49ers defense is that good. I think if they can control the clock with the run game and keep Mahomes off the field as much as possible they will be in good shape. You can't shut Mahomes out, but you can do what you can to limit his damage. I also do think if need be they can go score for score and open the game up. I don't think they want to do that, but I think they can win in any way needed if it comes down to it.

I think Shanahan is going to draw up some fun things to move the ball in a couple weeks.

It's going to be a fun game, something has to give either way.
The Chiefs' losses this year when Mahomes was under center:
Indianapolis - 45 rushes, 180 yds
Houston - 41 rushes, 192 yds
Tennessee - 26 rushes, 225 yds

I'd love for Kyle Shanahan to let Jimmy G sling it all over too. :slug:
He's not Joe Flacco or Matt Hasselback, but I'd feel pretty good letting his 2:1 TD:INT ratio and 36 sacks decide the game.

I'm sure Shanahan would much rather just run the ball all day long like the last two weeks. I think that will be the gameplan. I do think if need be Jimmy G can throw the ball to win the game. I'm worried about Mahomes, I'm worried about him extending plays. Russell Wilson gave the 49ers fits twice this year scrambling around back there. Mahomes makes plays that no one else can, you just have to try to limit them. He is going to get some no matter what though.

Here is to a good game. :fist:

The Niners run game is much more complicated than the Titans to stop, so I'm still not confident in the Chiefs' defense being able to stop it. Jimmy G had 4 game winning drives this year, so if it's close late he can get the job done, take what the D gives him and keep the chains moving. I think either team would be happy to get the ball with two minutes to play and down less than a possession.

Don't really care who wins...just as long as Mostert gets 167 or less rushing yards, I'm good...

This article is pretty spot on...

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/287 ... m=referral

some excerpts...

If you want to know who the 49ers are—truly are—look no further than tight end George Kittle.

Not the flashy pass-catching Kittle.

The nasty, gritty, kick-your-ass blocking Kittle.

On explosive 49ers run after explosive 49ers run Sunday, Kittle drove Packers defenders back. Two yards from the play. Three yards. He buried dudes. Play after play after play. Kittle and the 49ers offensive line absolutely brutalized the Packers.

The story from this game is the physicality of this 49ers team. It's one of the nastiest, most bruising, harshest and most powerful teams we've seen in Super Bowl history. On both sides of the football.

The Niners don't want to run by you, like the Chiefs do. They want to run, stop for a moment, punch you in the mouth, keep running, wait for you to catch up and then punch you in the mouth one more time just because.

The way San Francisco abused the Packers offensive line violates the Geneva Conventions. LOL

Every year someone is the best ever. I guess the 60s Vikings, 70s Steelers, 80s Bears, and early '00s Ravens should just bow down and kiss the ring. On account of beating up on the power puff Packers.

To be fair the article said one of the best in super bowl history.. not the best. Also the 49ers when they were healthy they were the best defense in the league. When they lost Alexander, Ford, Tartt etc all in a row the defense suffered obviously. Now that they are all healthy again the defense is back to being dominant.

In the grand scheme of things all the talk means nothing, but as a fan that article made me smile.

Late-ish in the game - may have been the final scoring drive - Kittle squared up on a safety and drove him pretty much into the Bay. Like, Ha Long Bay n Vietnam. I noted it live during the play and just started laughing.

I listened to 49ers radio on drive from Palm Springs to LA and while a touch insufferable, both Papa and Ryan noted how unselfish Kittle has been these last two weeks in that he’s hardly been targeted but has been trucking defenders left and right in the running game. In this age of diva receivers, he’s a nice breath of fresh air.

Jimmy G’s stat line looks like a high school QB’s
When you can run the ball at will you don't need to pass.
That’s what I was getting at

Rob Lowe sitting in the crowd wearing a brand new black hat with just a big NFL shield on it may be the most disingenuous fandom I have ever seen. Unless he is rooting for the refs.

Think he is out of tbe building already, now that they ran the promo for that terrible looking firefighter show of his?

A friend turning 40 in April wanted to go to Vegas for the draft. Everyone pretty much refused so we're going to be there the week before. I'm not going to Las Vegas to watch a draft.

Any excuse to go to Vegas is a good excuse to go to Vegas. But well played getting them to go the week before in any case
