No reason? The Penguins play there...that's reason enough.

During the summer, I have no idea though. Your greatest natural summer resource plays for San Francisco now...

And that Kenny Chesney landfill expedition already took place...so...it sounds like we both got nothin'...
Bringing the family to Pittsburgh in about a week. Hitting Kennywood, The Aviary, Linesville Spillway, daughter’s Irish Dance competition and visiting cousins.

Any coupons for Aviary out there?

I've heard rumblings in the usual circles that McCoy had character issues at Pitt, but they were hushed by Coach Wannstedt. Obviously there's nothing to substantiate this and they are still rumors at this time, but it would certainly not be surprising given the recent revelations about McCoy. Time will tell.

Here’s the most confusing thing about the Shady story. Dude is from Harrisburg. Went to Pitt. Played for the Eagles. Now plays for the Bills. Is worth several million dollars and could conceivably live anywhere. WHY THE **** DID HE GO OUT OF HIS WAY TO LIVE IN A SHITHOLE LIKE ATLANTA!?!

Ron Cook on the FAN yesterday said every interaction he had with McCoy at Pitt was respectful

The best aquarium in the entire country, by far.

Atlanta has been the epicenter of black culture, money, etc for a loooong time. From an outside perspective it's obviously a shthole, but it holds a place of special importance for black people in America going back to the 1960s. A lot of wealthy black people move there for that reason, but it also leads to an increased tendency to fall in with wrong people.

Downtown Atlanta was, IMO.
It's nice near Georgia Tech.

But I think Atlanta is like Dallas, lots of highways and built for automobile transportation.

The nice parts are in the outside neighborhoods.

This is true, but that's because GT has money. Walk a few blocks in any other direction, and it could almost look like a dirty ghost town. I would very much prefer the suburbs in that area.

The suburbs of Atlanta are VERY affluent, as you know. That city is the very definition of white flight. There has been some gentrification back into bad areas but by and large the city limits are not nice.

Is it truly because of Atlanta though? Shady seemed to have some questionable events happening with him involved all the way back when he started in Philly. Maybe he's just always been a turd.

Never having been to Detroit, I find Cleveland to be the most amusing example of a city just eating itself through white flight. Driving in to downtown from Shaker Heights, it's like thirty minutes of absolute **** between SH and downtown.

Yes it is.

But shad is correct - Atlanta is considered to be the capital of black American culture.

Troy, I found Dallas to be very accessible and navigable actually...maybe not the whole Metroplex itself, but Dallas proper (for lack of a better term) seemed easy to navigate without a car...I was pleasantly surprised by the whole city (that I saw of it anyway)...

I would imagine it depends on the scope of what you are doing. I assume there are part of downtown that are self sufficient. (meaning you could get there and find plenty to do), but to get to other parts of the city you're likely driving on highways. Also, from my limited experience traffic in Atlanta is infinitely worse than Dallas traffic. But nothing in the world is worse than driving around NY or Boston.
