just looked it up and he was 29. I thought maybe I was confusing him with Chris Weinke since both of them had the similar path of minor league baseball/college football/NFL draft pick, but Weinke was also 29 when he was drafted.I'm thinking he was 28 for some reason, but still...wasn't Weeden 30 or 31 when they drafted him?

Not sure if it has been discussed but the new kickoff format is weird.

The kicking team only gets a one yard run up, and the receiving team can only have 3 players deep. This would probably open up some space for returns.

Well now how are they going to sandwich a 5 second play with 35 minutes of commercials if ya take the kick off away????The rule are getting far too convoluted, at this point. Just get rid of the kickoff and give everyone the ball on the 20. That's clearly the direction this is heading.

the kangaroo has been saying this for years: the nfl is like the old general motors. crappy product that everyone bought just because that's what they always did. then one day everyone woke up and was like wow, this sucks.the NFL is becoming way too complicated for its simple fans. if NFL stock was a thing and I had it I would be selling

Refs can't handle the rules as-is, let's make it more complex! This won't be a debacle!

When do we fit in the 3 minutes of replays of a 2 yard run, and then the subsequent and necessary commercials? What a ridiculous question.Well now how are they going to sandwich a 5 second play with 35 minutes of commercials if ya take the kick off away????The rule are getting far too convoluted, at this point. The NFL is going to experiment with almost randomized (it seems) commercials...sometimes in the middle of drives, whenever...to try to space them out more evenly in terms of real time...

I watch fewer games every year. Last year it was Steelers only and a handful of playoff games. I really like having my Sundays back, I used to watch wall to wall football every week. What a waste.

I absolutely watched fewer games last year and it wasn't even a conscious decision or "anthem boycott" or non of that nonsense. I was pumped up for the season, I love the do-nothing sunday's pounding beers and crock pot food and following fantasy teams. Then about week 3 or 4 I realized I wasn't having any fun and the games were all just lousy. Then the over saturation of it thru the week breaking down the weekend on radio, twitter, podcasts and it just wasn't enjoyable unless I was putting money on it. And even then I didn't really care until the 2nd half or so of games.

I've really only watched Steelers games. Football is too drawn out for me, but I can see why people like having Steelers parties for eating food, talking, etc. but when I watch sports I just want to focus and not talk. That said the JuJu Fortnite TD dances are going to be as the kids call it, lit.

Yeah, I watched the least games of my life last year probably...all the Colts games, most of the playoffs, and just a smattering of other games here and there while I was home...
I used to not get up for 10 hours on Sunday...now, meh...whatever...

I only watch Steelers games I get for free in the Philly market. I had Sunday Ticket for 14 years and bailed on it three years ago.
And I've been to the Linesville Spillway more recently than I've watched the Steelers play.

I was listening to an ad for NFL Sunday Ticket today and laughed at the price of $69.99. Even if I had it for free it wouldn't affect my viewing habits, but a few years ago I was always trying to figure out how to get it at a discount.
