The field at Met Life is awful. Nick Bosa tore his ACL there a couple years back.

My son played a soccer tournament on artificial turf last August. One thing about turf is that it doesn't absorb heat well at all, and it was hot to sit on. Like I could feel the heat through my shoes at one point. Gross.

USA Ultimate held a regional tournament at turf field in Delaware when the air temp was 95. I think the turf surface was 115+. I think cleats were starting to fall apart because they aren't built for that.

In sollege we played rugby against Fordham and their field was turf. It absolutely sucked getting tackled on it. I had played soccer on turf before too and that was awful. Anytime you slid on it you’d get scraped up
I imagine the NFL has much higher quality turf but I still can’t imagine it’s anything like grass

We played Mt. Lebanon in soccer once a year on that furnace of a field. Thought my shoes were going to melt.

FIFA venues have to be grass, if I'm not mistaken. And with good reason.

The turf fields we played softball on last night were fun. It would not have been fun this summer though when we had to cancel games because the field temp was 140 degrees during our heat wave (95° air temp, 105 ish heat index).

There is ZERO reason nfl stadiums should not be grass. I know football in general tears up the middle of the field and requires replacement often, but it’s not soccer, the field doesn’t need to be perfect. Playing on dirt is better than turf

I was going to say that sponsor logos show up better on turf. But the NFL doesn't do sponsors on the playing field. Neither does baseball.

On the one hand you have a group of people complaining about non-contact knee injuries and the evils of turf. On the other you have a group of people who insist the Superb Owl be played indoors (subtext: on turf) to neutralize the playing conditions. I wonder if there's significant overlap in this Venn diagram.
It's football, people get hurt. Play on dirt in all weather.

I don't mind the boards, but everything else is blah. Yeah, come at me bro.Don't be a baby. NHL only has ads on the ice. And the boards. And helmets. And jerseys. And the digital ads on the glass at the blue line. And behind the net.

The whole "neutralize" conditions thing is WacArnolds to me...I like that baseball has different parks. I wish there were more intricacies to NHL rinks these days like the old Boston Garden and War Memorial Auditorium...
Watching those AFC West matchups late on a Sunday where the Raiders are playing on a baseball field...I wish they would have left the mound and the bases...**** it...
