A few years ago Pop Warner leagues started having a hard time filling teams. Sports Illustrated ran an article yesterday saying that high school teams are beginning to switch to 8-man football in Arkansas because they can't field entire teams anymore. Football is starting to be the new boxing; everyone knows it's toxic to your brain and only the most desperate will keep doing it.

Texas will probably keep the pipeline going through my lifetime but the problem will start showing up in smaller college programs in a few years.

Middle school and high school teams still make cuts down here. Meanwhile, soccer teams have boys and girls and pull up middle schoolers to play varsity and so on.

27 kids on a baseball team is like three goalies at hockey practice.

My former employer did that all the time. They had a baseball roster of 40+ players one year. Promise them college playing time, give them a small scholarship, and away we go. Then 1/3 of the team leaves the next year because - you guessed it - they aren't playing enough. Rise, wash, repeat.

He died before the curse could even happen. I'd say it got stronger.

Isn't this the cynical way of looking at 'pink October' and all that? "Football isn't so bad; we care about you, mom(s)! Now please sign your kid's permission slip so they can play fooobaaaaaaaaaa!"

As long as Madden was alive, he could rescind his licensing approval for the game. So the Curse launched a preemptive strike to eliminate that potential threat to its existence. Pretty much exactly what happened with Skynet.

Marion Barber, who played on the Cowboys from 2005-2010 died. I’ll always remember him as the guy who fumbled twice in the Tebow-led Broncos miraculous win over the Bears in 2011. One of the greatest football experiences of my life (also includes late-game heroics by the late Demaryius Thomas)

I have reason to drive past the Rams' facility in Agoura Hills once a week, I'll let you all know if the lights are still on.

Assuming for the sake of argument that is all true, what would (or should) be the damages for that?

How much would you want if a client in your office started jacking it in your direction and when he came some of it splattered on you?

Correct me if I'm wrong but these women weren't Asian massage parlor workers.
