The arbitrator has spoken, and so has Antonio Brown. It’s just not clear what Brown is saying.

“While I disagree with the arbitrator’s decision, I’m working on getting back to full health and looking forward to rejoining my teammates on the field,” Brown said on Instagram regarding the outcome of the grievance filed regarding the league’s refusal to allow him to wear his helmet of choice. “I’m excited about this season appreciate all the concerns about my feet.”

The “while I disagree” comment seems to be a precursor to a statement accepting the decision, but he never specifically and expressly does that. Acceptance is implied, but there’s a chance that Brown will explore other options before crying “uncle” on this issue.

Some have suggested that Brown’s lingering absence from the Raiders has more to do with his helmet preference than his feet, which reportedly were frozen in a cryotherapy chamber last month. His statement pins the absence squarely on the residual effects of the frostbite.

Until he actually returns, it’s fair to wonder whether something more is going on. Brown reportedly has threatened to retire over the helmet situation. And his legal team has leaked to the media that, if Brown suffers an injury wearing a different helmet, Brown will hold the league liable.
This **** has CTE and bi-polar disorder. The funniest part of his IG post is that he very clearly copied and pasted what (I assume) his agent told him to post, because he forgot to remove the quotation marks from the statement.

I can confirm reports that QB Dak Prescott has, in fact, turned down 30M a year offer and is instead seeking 40M a year per source informed. #Cowboys

Be like the greatest passer in the league before requesting that much coin. Even at 30 million a year I think that's being generous.

At the very least, this confirms that he’s got a massive set of balls.

He also knows the Cowboys have no backup plan so he holds all the cards. They can't afford to not have Dak and Zeke both.

Unfortunately, QB paychecks aren’t about who’s best but about who’s next in line to get his next deal. How much is Wentz gonna command when he’s up at the end of his deal? It’s getting more absurd than some of the baseball contracts.

If Wentz keeps getting injured, he won’t be getting paid, IMO.

Saw an interesting take on Dak earlier today.

He is betting on himself, which is an admirable trait in a leader. Flacco did it a couple years ago, and he led BAL to a win in the Superb Owl, so he hit pay dirt. Standing in his way in the AFC that year at QB was Ben (Steelers were mediocre, didn't make the playoffs), Tombrady, a rookie Andrew Luck, Andy Dalton (lol), Marmalard (who didn't make the playoffs), Pey-Pey.... annnnnd then a whole lot of mediocrity. Of those, he faced Luck and Peyton in the playoffs, and obviously beat them.

What is Dak facing? Carson Wentz (on perhaps the best top-bottom roster in the League, who the Cowpokes play twice), A-A Ron Rogers (who they play this year), Mitch Trubisky (who they play this year), Matthew Stafford (who they play this year), Kirk Cousins (who they play this year), Drew Brees (who they play this year), Jimmy G, Russell Wilson, Jared Goff, Matty Ice, Cam...... and at least three of those guys are not even making the playoffs.

It's a bold bet, and it's looking like he's going to have to make this happen without the real engine that drives that offense. (That's gotta chap Zeke's butt seeing Prescott turning down 30)

AB on social media looking for his style helmet made after 2010. Said he'd give you an autographed jersey.

If I had one, I'd sell it to him a few hundred thousand. He says he has all the money in the world and seems to really need this helmet.

Drew Rosenhaus says AB has located helmets made in the past ten years and they’re working on getting them here.
I guess we can hope that he goes through the same drama next year, seeing as how next year would be the last year he could possibly use any version of that helmet.

The funny thing about this (well.... one of a very many funny things about this) is that the specific model of helmet he's looking for was discontinued in 2011. So he's basically looking for one model year of production that was nine years ago. It's more or less a cosplay venture at this point.

Start canvassing Play It Again Sports, AB.
