Yeah, that's sort of what I was getting at. His contract is clearly a bad faith exercise in interference with the League's ability to mete out punishment under the CBA. The most charitable way to describe it is slimy.I'd prefer to also see the Browns punished for circumventing punishment.

Ridley wasn’t on the active roster though. His suspension is ridiculous in context imoThat directly undermines the legitimacy league so I get that.just a reminder that Calvin Ridley got 16 games for placing a 1,500 dollar parlay
I'd give him at least a year.

It's like a first-timer getting busted for MJ in August when you know the only time you have pee clean all year is heading into training camp. Yes, it's stupid. But you make a nice living playing a sport so long as you adhere to a fairly basic set of personal conduct rules. "Nobody in the NFL is allowed to bet on the NFL" is a really, almost painfully, stupid rule to get caught breaking. They have silly pee rules and prohibitions on gambling, office drones aren't allowed to pilfer reams of printer paper. We all have our crosses to bear.

My favorite is Pat Mcafee’s story about taking so many edibles before a cross Atlantic flight that he only survived because Adam Vinatieri was able to keep him in check. Said he knew he could go wild because he already pissed clean for that season. It's like a first-timer getting busted for MJ in August when you know the only time you have pee clean all year is heading into training camp. His initial settlement offer was $100,000 each, back when it was 18 accusations iirc. Statement doesn't seem to indicate if the four outstanding claims are all the newest ones; if they are, and they weren't disclosed to the Browns, does this leave the situation in limbo?

I saw that the NFL is pushing for an “indefinite” suspension for Watson. Feels like PR and I can’t imagine he’s get more than one season’s worth but we’ll see. Dude shouldn’t play in the league ever again if there’s any justice in the world

They should let him play this season and suspend him for all of next season when he actually starts getting paid under that ridiculous, enabling contract the Browns gave him.

Interesting video, could have probably been 1/2 as long and they could have spent a minute talking about the actual crash itself instead of a few text boxes after 40 minutes of excruciating detail, but it's a good story. Like to think it couldn't happen today but we just let people waltz in to the capitol building so who knows?
I knew somewhere in the back of my mind that this had happened but not the background.

How can you think this when he hasn't even been convicted of a crime?I saw that the NFL is pushing for an “indefinite” suspension for Watson. Sexual assault cases are very hard to convict on so I don’t really give that much weight. Do you think his accusers are lying? I don’t think they are, and if that’s the case, he’s a giant piece of human garbageHow can you think this when he hasn't even been convicted of a crime?I saw that the NFL is pushing for an “indefinite” suspension for Watson. Ben is garbage too. Sadly, much of the league is garbage
But the volume isn’t irrelevant here. Deshaun assaulted many women

Or just fine him 1 / number of years of the contact * total money. They should let him play this season and suspend him for all of next season when he actually starts getting paid under that ridiculous, enabling contract the Browns gave him.

Yeah, broeth in his prime sleazeball days was definitely a grade pos. But this **** with Watson is another level. Now, if 50 women came out and said Ben did that **** he did in the bathroom in milledgeville, then yeah. And while I would say broeth was edging the line for rape, Watson is a serial assaulterHow can you think this when he hasn't even been convicted of a crime?I saw that the NFL is pushing for an “indefinite” suspension for Watson.
